annamichael:  There are a number of flags that a division can "earn" at bootcamp.  They work hard for these and it is an honor each time they add a flag.  They will be displaying them at PIR in front of their division as they march.  The one they all aspire to is the Hall of Fame flag, which is the over-all high performance flag.

CDanielle:  Yes, he sounded coached in his call to you because it is a scripted call with Navy personnel standing there with him.  Anyone who has not passed all of their PFA tests and academic tests before BattleStations starts is required to make this call.  It usually sends family members into a tailspin because they usually directly say:  "I didn't pass my _____, I will not be graduating, do not come because I won't be able to see you."  This after families have plans in place that usually are quite complicated with getting time off from work, kids out of school, not to mention plane tickets, etc.  But we always try to intercept people like you and let you know that they have more chances.  From the year I have been on this site, and the people I have seen in your SR's position, I would say that 9 out of 10 of them DO pass this final test, do their BattleStations and become sailors before their PIR.  So keep the faith and hang in there!  Here's hoping that you get a call next week that all is good and he is a sailor!

CDanielle, I will continue my prayers for your boyfriend! My son also had a hard time passing his swim test in his previous division that they lovingly nicknamed him "Nemo" (remember in the movie Nemo had a goofy little fin & had to try harder to swim..lol).  I really hope it works out for your bf! Sending him all the positive vibes!!

Has anyone been having problems trying to access the gate parking passes? I'm still having issues with it! Called public relations yesterday to confirm password and it's still not working!

CDanielle-I will be praying for your boyfriend that he gets another shot at passing that swim test! Hang in there - it will all work out in the end! Have a good night.

CDanielleR - I so wanted to cry with you! Hope he gets another chance and passes...but we all need to keep in mind that in the BIG picture, the delay is not as horrible as it feels right now. Sending hugs and prayers

Got a letter from my SR today!!! He said that he received the honor of sharpshooter in the gun training... which is awesome! so proud of him! he also said that his division (147) has received all of the flags except for one so far! so that is also great news.  He also said he has gained 5 lb. in muscle!! haha he is just ready for it to be over with though even though he has made some pretty good friends and learned a lot through the process... I think they are all ready to get out of there.  8 days!!!!! So excited! :)
