PIR is over at about 10:30 am...they have to return to their ships after that, to get pictures, more instructions, etc...and then they are "yours" until 8 or 9 pm that night.

val:  They should know by now when they are leaving RTC.  If they are staying in GL for A School, they should be moving over there after PIR (according to RTC)...for several hours...and then they will have weekend liberty (but probably not overnights--although some corpsmen did last weekend).  If they are flying out, they will have Fri liberty after PIR, but visits on Sat will have to be at the airport with them, unless they fly out on Sun---then you should have Sat liberty with them also, Sun visit at the airport.

If only we could speed up the clock to see our sailors and then slow it down to have more time with them.  I am so excited to see my son, but then I cry knowing that I must say goodbye again.  Dont think for one moment there wont be a road trip to South Carolina in my near future . Well good luck to all and see some of you soon.

How soon before we get to PIR next week will we know how much and when they will have liberty?  I cannot believe we are in single digits!!!!!  I cannot wait to throw my arms around that kid of mine.  How much time do you normally get after graduation before they have to start moving when they are a grad and go?  How everyone is well...congrats Freebird on being cancer cell free.  That is wonderful news.

OMG!!!! you are getting so close... now the letters slow down...they are busy as bees... crazy....Coming here and reading your posts makes me have those feelings again.. it was definately the hardest 8 weeks in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!  you are so close now.. on the edge of your seat... and soon those battlestations calls will start flowing... I am so excited for you all.  Our group had some really hard times during the 8 weeks with our lives ...we had one lady miscarry her sailors baby... one lost her husband... another lost her father... and we all pulled together it was so awesome having the support of each other.  I met some of my best friends right here.  My son is now in SC...and thanks to N4M..i know the wifes of 3 of his friends who he was in bc with and now in school with..i also know 4 mothers of sailors with him.  it is a great feeling to know they are not alone when they go to their school...    our boys graduated friday..and shipped out 2am saturday so we didnt have a long visit at all.... my son was in a 900 division so he had to "work" during pir.    Ya'll hang tough and we will see you on the other side of graduation!!!  good luck!!!

Hi Freebird, that is wonderful news.  I know how you must feel. My husband is now one year out of his 5 year remission.  Going through something like that does give you a different outlook on life.  Carla, what division is your daughter in?

Welcome back Carla, and I am so happy that you are cancer cell free. It must be wonderful to be able to say that. I wish I were going to your PIR, I would gladly take pics for you. I hope someone here has an SR in her division that can try to do this for you. I am sure someday soon she will realize how important you are and I wish the best for both of you. I will continue to keep you, your daughter, and your family in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless, lala

Hello Ladies...This is Freebird61 (Carla)...I need to really apologize to you all for not responding and being a part of the group...this has been a very trying time for me with my daughter and myself going through recovery (I AM CANCER CELL FREE) just heard last week...My daughter and me have a lot of history issues...that she seems to not be able to let go of....and unfortunetly I chose to disconnect from her...Please I LOVE MY DAUGHTER VERY MUCH!! but she wants to relive her younger years and I can't give those years back to her...She needs this time to grow spiritual and emotionally for us to have a relationship as mother and daughter and be able to go forward...not backwards in our relationship...My cancer has taught me alot...My children are why I decided to fight so hard to live...I don't want my history to repeat itself with my daughter's as it did with me and my mother... I need to say that I chose to not allow my self to be emotional bashed by her any longer...I thought the Navy would change her attitude towards me but she wrote some very hurtful letters to me...and that is when I chose to close the door for a moment our on relationship until she becomes to realize what her words have done to me..I hope you all don't judge me...I am asking a very big favor of anyone that is going to go to PIR...Unfortunetly not only for the reason above...I financially can not go to the PIR because I have NO INCOME coming in now that I am not Disabled I have had to have donations to just pay my rent this month.....I have been spending the last few weeks trying to summit resumes for me to go back to work...and I'm telling you I am not a 100% well ...But could I ask someone to please try to get to my daughter and tell Her I LOVE HER &HOW PROUD OF HER I AM...and PLEASE get a Picture of her ...so I may see her in her uniform...I would be so appreciative if someone could do this for me...If you can please email me at carladcooper@gmail.com and I will give you a pic of her and maybe someone can snap some shots of her...Thank You...this was very hard for me to open up to a wonderful group of Women...God Bless to all!!!
