I'm not a Navy Mom, just a Navy husband. This forum just seemed like a great community, so excuse me for posting here.

My wife is PIR 4/22/11 Boat 3 Div 146. The one letter I did get from her she said she's in charge of making sure everyone else in the div is studying and getting their assignments done. She told me she has made a bunch of great friends there, maybe some are your loved ones. I hope all the best for everyone's family. I won't be able to make the graduation, which is really hurting me. I heard there is a way to send a care package they can open when they finish boot camp...could anyone point me to a link for this? The recruiters haven't gotten back to me about it.

Once again, best of luck to you all. I'm sure you are all as proud as I am. Say hi to my wife for me. :)

Annamichael:  I believe the ribbon is on their uniform as my son said "I get an S over it so it's cool that I will look a little different"

So funny on the milk comment....I'm having the MAJOR blue's today! Ughhhh! I don't know if its been the rain/snow/hail in usual sunny Southern California....but I've been non-stop attached to N4M's/ Navy FB page trying to soak up any possible information regarding our 4/22 group.  I literally wake up....work (barely), come home....sleep....and do it all over again the next day....been dreaming of my son....not good dreams...so won't mention specifics on here.....just want 4/22 to get here. I thought when he first went in I was gonna lose it.....now with the day so close....yet still 13 days away....I'm going cuckoo! All mind consuming....I have 3 other younger boys....that have been so patient with their absent minded mom....pray for peace for me....ANXIOUS as heck!!

I also wanted to add...that I am having a yard sale today to help the "Chicago fund" and I came across a box of old stuff.  In the box, I found a little keepsake box with my SRs baby teeth in them...I cried. Then got a little ooged out that I even kept them! I also found a t-shirt that the hospital gave him the day he was born, it said "I met my mom at SEAMC" I wept again...sobbed really. poor hubby doesn't say much...just tolerates the tears. bless his heart!

I have to say...I love how our SRs are getting to know each other there...and we are getting to know each other here!! I feel bonded to you all because NO ONE is gonna get things like weeping for no reason, or happy about a milk's expiration date! (((group hug)))

Jennie - My SR was one of the sharpshooter's too! He said there were 7 others. He mentioned one used to be a cop and the other is a "gun fanatic". He sounded really proud :)

The ribbon... Where is the ribbon? Is it on their uniform or something?

Val...in a letter this week from my son it said....EVERYONE is ready to get out....that they work great as a Div but everyone is sick of everyone....he said the countdown is definitely on. He further said by the time I received the letter that they would have completed test 2 which was on Tuesday. Said the test were pretty easy as long as you studied and for me not to worry on that. On a side note....my son was not an academic in HS so for him to feel confident is REALLY good!. They completed (I don't have letter in front of me) live fire. He said there are 3 qualifiers...marksman points (180-203), sharpshooter (204-227) and Expert (228-240) only one person got expert and 4 got sharpshooter...he was one of them so he gets the ribbon plus an "S" over it as well. He was excited about that. Asked me to send lyrics to a couple of songs because as they don't have privledge for music they all sit around trying to remember lyrics. Also asked for more gossip mags pages...People...US weekly rather than newspaper clippings as everyone is getting those. I just buy the mag's and rip pages out and send....hasn't been a problem. CAN'T WAIT FOR APR 22nd!!!
