Hi ladies!  I received my son's box last Friday and I'm anxiously awaiting my first letter.  His recruit gave us his address the day after he arrived in GL and we've been steadily mailing letters to him.

Jessica B.  I've read your very informative posts.  Thanks for taking so much time to share what you know.  I'm still a little confused about the 900 division info.  Does this mean that these recruits will do something in the PIR?  Curious.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences....I don't feel nearly as alone as I once did.

Yes, you are on the group here, Denise!  This is 921's discussion group!

Hi Everyone,

My husband left 2/8.. and is Ship 2 Div 921!!

Denise- My husband can not carry a tune either!! He does play the sax tho, well used to play. I can't tell you the last time he played. I was also wondering what was meant by, integrated... I asked my husband in the letter I just sent, how he ended up in the 900's DIV. I can't wait to see what he says!!

I can't wait to meet you all at PIR! It will come up sooner then we think! Feel free to inbox me at anytime! Hope everyone had a good weekend! Be safe, and hope we all get letters tomorrow!!

Sarah

I talked with a coworker today who has two sons in the Navy.  One was in a 900 division.  She said that he stood guard in the stands at his own graduation.  That was his "performance!"  She and his dad approached him and he couldn't speak to them...had to hold his position.  She said that although she thought it was great watching him stand guard, she really missed seeing him march into the hall.

We made our reservations Sunday!!!  So excited to finally make plans.  We're staying at the Quality Inn.Can't wait to connect with everyone!

Rhonda

Hooray for you!!!!!!!!  I'm a little jealous :o) and must say that I just lived vicariously through you for a moment.  Congrats.  You answered a few of my mail questions.  So glad to know they've gotten our mail.  Looking for a letter.  Enjoy your moment.

Rhonda

I GOT 2 LETTERS!!! I got them saturday!!

He said the same thing about PT. He said that they get 3 more phone calls!! He said he didn't realize how much bookwork there was!! lol That's pretty much all their doing right now, their either in class or learning/memorizing something!

He also said he's adjusting well to the military life.

I hope yall have gotten letters too! If not don't worry their coming!! I promise!!

Hope everyones having a good weekend also!

Sarah

Got my letter Saturday and his girlfriend did, too!!!  He sounded very upbeat.  Likes the food (much of it baked...he's a health nut).  He misses the trivial things of home....imagine that!  I'm hoping that by now, he's gotten all of the letters we've sent and knows that we miss him, too, BUT support him more than anything and are excited about this opportunity.

He mentioned going over to the NEX and seeing family with their recruits.  Said he couldn't wait for PIR weekend for us to join him!

Here's hoping to a week full of letters for us all!!!!

Have you all booked flights yet?

Rhonda

We booked ours through Southwest! :-)
Thanks for the info! Staff division huh? Mine will probably be the one having to stand outside the whole ceremony at door watch and the only one who gets to see him during the ceremony would be the rest of the family waiting in the visitor center that couldn't get in. LOL  Did yoru son mention what his job would be at graduation?

Got two letters yesterday.  My son said that he was trying out for honor guard.  He said that about 20 recruits make it and he has to practice marching A LOT each day.  He didn't mention anything else about being in the 921 division, although he may not have seen my letters asking about it.

He did say he was first in swim qualifications out of 88 in the division and 23rd out of 800+  at the entire center.  He worked his BUTT off this fall to prepare for that....so nervous he wouldn't make it.  He said he couldn't let it go to his head because there is so much work involved.

I so need a phone call!!!!

Yes!!!  That would be great!

I'm replying to my own post! It's 8 days later and GUESS WHAT..I got a call from my son and he informed me we probably won't see him at graduation because he will be working. Opening doors for Admirals etc. Did I call it or what...lol.

bummer!
