I saw that there wasn't a group for this ship & division on 4/8/11 PIR date, so I guess I just started one!  We have our hotel reservations, but not a rent a car yet or the plane fare.  Only ltr to date has been the form one, but that one was enough to have me ecstatic!  Have written several letters and include a self addressed envelope back to us with a stamp on it.  Heard from N4M's that it makes it alot easier for the SR to write back.  Better being in a little group than the whole Boot Camp for Mom's group, which would give me over 100 e-mails a day!  This is a much smaller and more doable size.  Hope to meet you all at graduation.  Hope my daughter stays on track and that the date doesn't change.  Good luck to all our SRs.

Hi, We got our form letter on Sat. I was so excited! I can't hardly wait for a real letter. I am starting to check into hotels this week. We are planning to drive out from Florida.....
I  recieved the form letter on Saturday also, I made our hotel reservations today at the Navy Lodge,, Its ony 1 1/2 mile from base so if the traffic is too bad I will walk to see my son PIR! My oldest son is a seabee reservist and when he graduated we spend  40 minutes in traffic, and we were only 10 minutes away! Didn't book flight or car rental yet, I guess I will do that this weekend, It seems like all the plane fares are basically the same. We live in NJ, I can't wait to recieve an actual letter from my son, although the note at the end of the letter made me feel so much better.I sent  Rocco with an address book with aunts and uncles addresses, and 3 books of stamps- I did buy him a tablet and envelops, but he didn't want to take them! And after talking to my oldest son, he said on your free time you really don't want to sit and write letters.
Good advice on hotels, I like how close it is!! Do you have to be in the Navy to stay at the Navy Lodge or is it open to civilians?  And what airport are you thinking of flying to? Sorry, but any advice you have since you have been through this once would be great! I feel like a fish out of water trying to plan my trip on my own!! lol

Good Morning,

Friends of ours was just out there a couple of months ago and stayed at Spring Hill. They said it was really nice and clean. I was also reading on another post that recommended taking the shuttle from the hotel, they get to go right in - no lines. We might plan to do that. I'm still waiting on a real letter......I guess no news is good news!

Hey everyone my fiance is ship 9 div 126 I wish everyone the best. I havent gotten a call or a official letter yet. I heard a few people are sick? How is this div doing? I hope to see everyone on 4/8 I am praying for everyone.
Good morning all - no letter yet.......still waiting!

Hello,

My daughter (only child) is also on Ship 09 Div 126. I received my form letter last Sat.2/19 as well. It is driving me crazy not to hear from her. I booked my flight and made my hotel reservations also at the Navy Lodge. I still need to book my car. I am just so excited for PIR.

Hey Heather, Welcome. I don't think anyone in this group has gotten another letter just yet. Maybe Monday!!! I booked my hotel also at Navy Lodge. I'll prolly book my flight next weekend. Still need to book my car too. I share your excitement. Feels like we are in the middle of forever now lol.

Hi, Navy Momonly1 Girl,,

We only have our hotel as of now. And other the phone call when our son arrived,no call or letter yet. Last Sunday 2/20 was my son's 21st birthday, boy did that hit me hard. - I have been looking into flights, and will probably book that tomorrow, and I really hope the dat doesn't change also, but my older son who is a Navy reservist and PIR was 2 years ago said they really try to make sure that they pass. Hope to meet you in 39 days : ) Debi
