Hi I am new here and was hoping to interact with others. My son left 2/7/11. I still have not spoke to him. I am praying he is ok and adjusting to bootcamp.

still waiting for a letter, but I know that it wont be for a another few days yet for me. and I am doing ok since, like mumziepooh, I got to talk to my SR a few times, so I already feel lucky! I do like reading how everyone is starting to recieve their letters and what they are saying. It's good to hear good things coming from them!

My son told me that he got a bunch of letters last night and he is plodding thru them.  He said the other guys were jealous and to keep them coming.  Momma2 - I think you said what I feel.  I am not upset that he hasn't written me - he told me he hadn't. I honestly didn't expect it - I know this boy!  I talked to him and that is really all that matters - he is happy and doing well.  Nothing else has changed.

got 2 letters from my daughter the first one 7 pages!  YAAYY!!:)  She sounds good, she loves the dessert cart especially the snickers and ice cream but is also eating her fruits and vegetables.  She said she loved the first mail call when they kept calling her name over and over again :) She talked about the first night being up for 30 hours :( She talked about her daily routine starting at 530 am. She's in 1 of the only 2 co-ed divisions with 88 SR's in it and her division is the only sponsored one.  She talked about the "team" concept and the intense PT .  She's made a lot of friends and should be calling next week and she loved me verrry much,  what a happy end to my week :)

Yes, it was very refreshing to see that handwriting in my mailbox today!  I really hope the rest of you get mail soon!!  I don't want to post much on here, as I hear the RCT's read these posts and don't want any reprecussions on the SR's.  All in all-they are fed well, get almost enough sleep and are learning to clean, sew buttons, polish shoes, and make beds, so when they come home to us, we can put our feet up and relax, right ladies??? ;-)

mamaseal....I thought I'd die when I read what your son wrote. What an wonderful sense of humor!!  I'm sure he never, in his wildest dreams, thought so many people would get to truly appreciate that. Thanks so much for sharing!

Denise...y'all...well, you are just a love. You surely are! (((HUGS)))

To you all who got letters and are feeling so much better, oh gosh , I'm just so happy for you. How very relieved you all must be. Yes, you knew they were okay, but hearing something from them just verifies that, doesn't it?

To those who didn't receive letters today...I'm mourning right alongside y'all, but sincerely hopeful that we will get our letters soon. May they be every bit as uplifting as we need them to be! ((((((HUGS))))))  to my sweet Navy moms!

So happy for all of you who received letters.  My letter was the very best thing that has ever come through the mail.

MamaSeal-What I meant was he must make you laugh with his sense of humor.  It's great that he has one going through BC.  It will definitely help him along the way.  Glad you got your letter.  It is definitely uplifting!:)
