That will be so funny momma2- be sure and let us know his response :-)

I think I would keep writing every day even if they say to cut back on them. The first few days they receive letters I am sure they get more. My sailor got 11 one day and 1 the next. She said she was disappointed to only get one lol. So she re-read all the ones she got the day before.

It does seem where you live decides when a letter might arrive assuming your recruit has written. My son mailed his letters at the same time and his dad in the detroit area got his yesterday, mine arrived today in Florida. If your on the west coast I can see it taking a bit longer. Checking the mail and not getting a letter was an awful feeling and my husband new it was starting to weigh heavily on me. So when he walked to the mailbox today he was praying and hoping something came for him to give to me or he didn't know what he was gonna do.LOL. He said I darn near considered writing a letter myself from my son if one didn't come. He was sad that I was sad. I think what I learned from this experience though is the only thing that changed was I was more informed. My son was still at boot camp, just like I knew, he was not being discharged for anything, just like I knew because I didn't get a call, and he was being taken care of..which we all know the Navy takes care of our boys and girls. I am hoping if another letter don't come soon, I can remember these things and try not to point my nose at the mailbox obsessively like a beagle on the scent of a rabbit....It was terrible. So mom's be encouraged..you already know your babies are in good hands, wait patiently...it'll come!

No, he's not a comedian, but he has a great sense of humor. Guess you have to laugh when you've had very little sleep!  I sure hope the rest of you get mail soon!!

It made me laugh and cry to get such a  long letter!  Only 40 days to go Mamas!

nursemom:  Hmmmm...now that's a first...a SR asking to cutback on letters!  I have a feeling as time goes on, he will want more and more!  Letters are like "Christmas morning" to them as they get into training!  So great that all are writing to him so much.  I don't think he will be singled out for lots of letters...unless just in a joking way!  They love those letters!

I got a letter too. Was about as many lines that were on his form letter, but it was a letter!!

Got letter today.  My son is actually asking for us to cut back on letters.  He is worried he will be signaled out because he received 5 out of the 10 letters the Division received.  Too many extended family.  He sounds really upbeat.  He is enjoying the RDC's type of humor.   It is so reassuring to know that he is doing well.  He did not have any negative comments about BC.  Looking foward to more mail from him.

He also elevated his PST Whoo Hoo I just got off the phone with his girlfriend, she also got a letter and read it to me. Hers was 6 pages long...Holy Smoke! Ladies keep those girlfriends close . He also said he hadn't gotten any letters from us yet...so this week he'll probably be inundated with mail! Im in Northern Cali so those of you waiting for letters should get them soon.
