Hi I am new here and was hoping to interact with others. My son left 2/7/11. I still have not spoke to him. I am praying he is ok and adjusting to bootcamp.

We are here!!!  Traveled by Southwest from No. CA.  Good flight, no problem getting the rental or getting through traffic.  $1 toll to our hotel (Homewood Suites).  Very nice hotel.  Hope to see a bunch of you tomorrow night.  We did go through Midway~thought we noticed the USO AFTER security.

How do we "hook up" with our soldier at the airport (i know he is leaving Sat...just dont know what airport at this time).  Do they just dump them off..and he can wait someplace for us...or do they have to travel as a group?

Just received another call!! She confirmed that she will be moving to across to Corpsman school right after graduation. ICSailorsgirl, your sailor will probably be the same since they are in the same division and both going to Corpsman school.

Thanks Lala!

I agree with Ragdollrae.  I feel so blessed to have been a part of this group with you all.  When I visit the Navy Recruit Facebook page, I am saddened by the almost desperate family members - just trying to get a little information - I feel like I am so well prepared and supported.  Thank you for all of the time and all of the prayers!  I hope you all have a great weekend with your sailor - a great few hours - whatever you have - make it count!

Travel safe everyone and enjoy whatever time you have even if you have to share it with people you would rather not. Feel blessed that you will see them, hug them and just enjoy them.
