Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This group started on 2/8/11 and we survived boot camp, laughter and tears. Now our recruits are sailors and headed in many directions, but we'll continue to support one another throughout!

I haven't gotten a phone call from my son since he arrived at BC, I know its only 2 weeks, but I carry my cell with me all the time just in case,

They probably haven't received any of our mail yet since it takes at least a couple of weeks before the recruit who handles the mail is trained. So don't despair! I am so looking forward to receiving my first real letter. Maybe by this weekend!

Comment by ProudNavySister on February 23, 2011 at 2:07pm: Hello, my name is Cyndi. My brother is in Ship 09, Division 125. We got the two phone calls so far (the first was the official call). We have only received the first official letter as of yet. Unfortunately his recruiter gave us the wrong division number so he wasn't receiving any letters from us :( this breaks my heart, he probably thought we all forgot about him! My other brother just graduated boot camp this past Friday, I just got back Monday :) I can't wait to go back in April to do it again!
