Hi I am new here and was hoping to interact with others. My son left 2/7/11. I still have not spoke to him. I am praying he is ok and adjusting to bootcamp.

To the ladies that have booked hotels, does anyone know which ones have shuttles to the graduations? Or would it be better to rent a car?

Pam and Marianne.  We are booked there as well.  I was going to change, but I will stay put.  It does sound very convenient.

Proud Navy Mom.  What Ship/DIV is your SR in?  Maybe you could send something, a card or something to one of use who are going, and are in the same DIV..and we could make sure he/she gets it on the special day.  That would probably be very welcome for your new Sailor...and might make you feel good too!

pam-I booked the Ramada as well.  Looks like it will be convenient. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

mumziepooh....You should bring the decorated envelope with you when you come for PIR.  He would probably get a kick out of seeing what he sis was going to send him!  And he will be soooo thankful that his mom saved him!

Welcome new mommies! So glad to have you! Look in the discussion area - view all and join the group that represents your division.

Just think - we have made it through 2 whole weeks - and so have our kids! Isn't that great? I think it is but then, I am a cheerleader (not that I was in real life......). My goal is to stay upbeat and make this a place that is encouraging nag uplifting. Join me :) - happiness loves company.

I have a couple of mottos - invisibility for my son and the Navy uses the Pony Express. Snail Mail is alive and well. I am hoping that their Mail Petty Officer has been trained and they can get some letters pretty soon. With any luck, my son will actually communicate with me. One can hope!

Funny story - his sister is 16. She has been working on a letter for him. That is all great but she colored the envelope with markers and filled it with confetti. YIKES! That violates my invisibility rule! She was so sad that she had to use a boring old envelope. So sad to a 16 year old. So happy for her brother!

This group has grown from 37 to 71 in a week.  Welcome aboard new sailor Moms!  Most of our recruits arrived at GL on 2/8 I believe and will attend their PIR on 4/8.  There are usually some "veteran" mom's on the chat room in the lower right corner of your screen if you're looking for some immediate answers.  For other new members, if your "IN" box on your email account is filling every time someone on this site posts, just hit "stop following" button about midway down the page of the groups you're following.  Looking forward to seeing many of you in 44 days.  I wonder if we should all wear pins with our N4M names :-)

We booked room at Ramada in Waukegan - 83.00 for two queen beds - ask for Navy Graduation discount.  Only about 4 miles from RTC.  Wanted a suite, just too expensive since we are flying and need to rent a car as well.

Wow this is a good size group. You make make lots of new friends in a group this size and yet, still small enough to get some extra guests into PIR :-)

mamaseal:  Can you post your PIR group's division numbers at the top of this page (either in the title or right underneath).  Here they are:

Div 121-128, 807-808, 920-921

wow, 2 800 (special ops) divisions and 2 900 divisions....don't see that too often!

12 divisions!  A decent size PIR group!
