My daughter is Ship 9 Div 126.  She is PIR 4/8/11.  I just joined this group.  We booked our reservation for the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago.  We got a suite with a separate Living Room with a pull out sofa bed for our SR's boyfriend.  Our Recruiter gave us her address and I wrote two letters with her first name first, but the letter shows her last name first.  Do you think she will still get them?  He left out the line Recruit Training Command, too.  I hope they still arrive.  Heard it takes about two weeks for them to get mail.  Hope all goes well and that date will be the graduation date without any changes.  No charge for the hotel right up to 6 p.m. that evening.  Booking up fast.  I'd look for reservations soon.  Take care.  See you at graduation!

Gina, I had to make a comment about the hand writing on the front of the letter.  My son wrote it so perfectly that I'm thinking that he must have had someone else write it for him.  The RDC must have been standing over them as they wrote the envelope.  When I got to the part on the form letter that had the little note from him, I could barely read it.  Still trying to decipher a sentence or two.

Yeah...our letter arrived today, and we are 4/8 for PIR.  Letter said he was "having fun" started crying about that...tears of joy!!!  I just needed to know that he was feeling good and doing good!  We are just thrilled...makes me feel so much better!!!  Ahhh...now to make reservations.  Will look at SW Airlines first...thanks for the info on that~sounds like the way to go.  What a good day, we are so happy!!

I was wondering if someone could give me information about the portraits the recruits will take; like cost, availability, etc.

mamseal:  Midway is a a bit further from GL than Ohare, but not bad.  But like Betsy said, Milwaukee---try Milwaukee--- will get you out of the Chicago traffic and could very well be cheaper!  I would NOT get refundable tickets....very $$$!  I had to change mine (nonrefundable) and even with the $150 change fee, the prices were cheaper for my new dates so it was like $89 change fee.  Southwest tickets would be perfect if you can fly SW from where you are!
