Good luck to all of the young men and women going through Battle Stations tonight. I guarantee this will be more intense than you know. Get some rest and keep your phones handy tomorrow!! Let us all know the results once you hear from your Sailors!

Are there any SWCC moms on here?  If so, what is their schedule like after PIR?  Do they go straight to San Diego or stay in GL for a bit?

tinlizzy- Thanks.  I got to talk to my son on Wednesday also, so I should just be grateful.  He also had been sick, but seemed to be doing better.  We will see them all soon.  Battlestations tonight!

Southwest has grounded many of their planes for inspection. I am sure they will be flying by Thursday.

Does anyone know if we are permitted to carry our purses into the graduation hall? I would like to be able to keep my camera and video recorder in my purse until I'm ready to use them - just not sure for security purposes if purses are allowed...

Good luck tonight to all of the SR's doing Battlestations!

The Sailors don't necessarily leave at the same time just because they are going to the same place. It depends a whole lot on how many are going to that city. When my Sailor left for Pensacola there were well over 200 sailors going to Pensacola. She was one of 150 who left on a chartered flight. All the others had commercial flights that left throughout the morning.

Please remember when they tell you they leave in the wee hours like 2 am. That is when they are leaving for the airport. Not the time of their flight. Make sure you have them write down their flight info and give it to you. They go back to their rack right after they see you at the end of the PIR ceremony and they can do it then. You will need to know what airport, what airline, flight time, etc. You don't want to end up waiting at the wrong airport.
