Hi I am new here and was hoping to interact with others. My son left 2/7/11. I still have not spoke to him. I am praying he is ok and adjusting to bootcamp.

Ladies~how wonderful to hear about your sailors doing so well. Mine left for Pensacola Sunday after PIR-didn't start A school until last week! He had hoped to be finishing in the next week or so-looks like it'll be more like mid-June. LOVE that I can email, call or text him anytime. He sent me flowers for Mothers Day with a great card.
I've tried other groups but none compare to this one-we just have way too much in common and went through the same things.
So wonderful to hear my sailor talk about what he'll be doing next..and more than anything can't wait to see him again soon.
Take care and keep in touch....

I found this info too - looks like it was posted over 2 years ago, but worth checking out for the price:
TM - so glad that he moved in a positive direction. I know that had to be very scary and touch and go for a while. Way to go for the Navy! They knew they had a good man in him and spent the time to get him well.
I had a great Mother's Day! I took my mother and gradmother to visit my sailor in A school in San Antonio. It was the first time that were able to see him since he left for bootcamp. It was wonderful to see the accommodations at Ft Sam Houston - Joint Base. It is so HUGE - it is a town of its own. My sailor is doing wonderful there and having a great time. He is enjoying corpman training and is already signing up for C-school - psychology tech of all things. I am sure he will be analyzing me soon!! :0)
Enjoy hearing about everyone's sailors. I am sure that everyone is ready for leave. My son will get his first weekend liberty on Memorial weekend and he has plans to come home. It will be great for everyone.
Take care...

texasmom, glad to hear he's on the upside of things. We all felt such compassion for what you were going through. My son sounds very upbeat and doing well.
It's nice to know they're doing what they really WANT to be doing. Take care!
ICsailorsgirl,
Taxi Service: "Sarge" Phone number: 847-212-0246. Glowing recommendations from several moms. He is relaible and cheaper than most regular taxis/shuttles. You can also text him and he should answer fairly quickly.
Very nice...thank you!
Debi~enjoy you son...how very lucky you are!
I hope all the Sailors are enjoying the Navy as much as my son is! I talk to him almost everyday..and he just cant believe he gets paid to do this. I am so happy that he is so happy.
very sweet, says it all. Hope everyone is doing well in "A" school. Proud of our SEALS that's for sure
