amk62:  It is possible that he would be able to write this Sunday.

aveamare:  If he was one of the last ones to feed into this division/PIR group, they may have just run out of time during PDays.  They will do it soon though.  Don't worry...they have to pay him!

ship 02/div925 got to boot camp last wed, the 9th.  I got my phone call midnight that night.  Each div is different though, each RDC has different rules.  Maybe our div did something really well to earn writing privileges?  I don't know, but I'm sure you guys should get letters soon too  They should all be allowed to write by the second Sunday they are there.

I'm waiting patiently, too!

I was wondering when Ship 02/Div 925 SR's left for bootcamp?  Did they leave before March 7th?  My son (ship 4/Div 809) arrived at Great Lakes on March 7th and I wonder when he will be able to write.

BTW, in the letter my husband said they hadn't taken his banking information yet.  does anyone have any clue as to why that might be?  If he wrote on sunday, and Pdays were over, shouldn't they have taken it already?

Once they have been at RTC for about 2 weeks, you can assume that they are finally being allowed to receive mail.  Their mail recruit has to be trained before this process starts, but they do try to get the mail to the recruits in a timely manner.  Sometimes you may get the first letter from your SR saying:  Why aren't you writing? ...when you have mailed many letters already!  Remember...your letters most likely will cross in the mail.  They may be allowed to write before receiving mail.  It could be that they write to you, and receive your letters the next day...so don't worry.  The mail gets to them!

I wonder if the RDC was reading this and felt bad for us so they decided to let them write early?  Do you think they've received the mail from us already?  I hope so because my husband said he missed me and my son so badly and I want him to cheer up.

and thank you diannep, makes me feel better, I'll definitely be booking in the next couple weeks though.  Even if I don't talk to my MIL, I'll make the reservations w/o them.  LOL

He was on the same ship the recruiter told me the difference was the street address numbers..don't know why

I got the form letter in the mail today with his address and it was a different then the one his recruiter gave me so I'm glad I waited to mail a letter to him.  I printed labels for him with his return address and address' for the people he wanted to write to so it will be easier for him to write back.  He sounded good in the few lines he wrote to me.  He said it was day 4 and he had only been yelled at once so that's good right?  His PIR is May 6 so I hope that doesn't change.  Can't wait to get a real letter from him so I can see how he is really doing.
