I looked at the pic too, I didn't know they stayed in a different place when they first got there. I guess I learned something new :) So has anyone found their recruit in this picture?

And whoever made that comment "aww Dad, you're crying" that brought tears to my eyes. I haven't seen my dad cry very often but when I do it always makes me cry.

Most of the hotels there will let you cancel your stay up until the day you arrive without any fee. At Navy Lodge you can cancel as late as 6 pm the day of arrival with no fee. So book your hotel as early as you like. I wasn't sure where I wanted to stay and booked at 2 places until I made my mind up lol.

foreverMom:  The hotels are usually good about allowing for changes in dates.

Just a reminder that Southwest Airlines has no change fee and two checked bags are free.  Also flying into Milwaukee is cheaper than flying into Chicago in most cases...and it is just a little bit further from GL and an easy drive to get there, with no Chicago traffic!

SoHappy&Proud: Might be better for you to copy the clippings and send them as letters.  They enjoy info like that.  Every now and then, we hear that an SR asks that clippings not be sent because they aren't allowed to have them in that division.  Not sure why, but it is up to the individual RDCs what they are allowed to have.  He will let you know if he can't have them anymore, but hopefully they will be ok.  We also say to scan and print pictures on paper to send to them as opposed to sending individual pictures.  Takes up less room in their limited storage space and makes the envelope less thick!

Ozzy:  Courtyard is not far from Residence Inn, and close to Springhill Suites...all Mariotts.  They all have the PIR shuttle too.  Courtyard and Springhill are right next to the Walmart shopping center where there are restaurants, etc.

I am a supporter of taking the shuttle...avoids the car lines...but you need to be on one of the earliest ones.  Base gates open at 6:30....we were in the PIR Hall by 7 and although had a long wait before it started, we were never bored.  There is lots of activity in the Hall, they have big screens with video running on it...and it was fun to "people watch" too.

On the mail....the purpose of plain envelopes is to keep from drawing attention to the mail.  They don't want to have to open it in front of the RDCs.  So we say stay away from colored envelopes, stickers, writing cute comments on the outside, etc.

But the most important thing about the mail is....write often!  They love receiving it!
