foreverMom, I read in the Family Guide at bootcamp.navy.mil...standard envelope. I've been sending the standard, business size #10 envelopes. Since I haven't heard anything from my SR, I'll have to assume that's what we should use. Somewhere in this website, I read that cards are okay, too, but we should avoid colored envelopes.
jbird, yes, I live in Shanksville. That was not a good way for our town to become known, but it is what it is, and we make the best of it. I agree, our SR's are to be commended on their decision to join the Navy. We can all be very proud of our loved ones!
Robin, a nuke's mom,
I just saw that you're from Shanksville. South of us. You must have some stories to tell of that sacred ground..wow. Reminds me of just how proud I am of all of our son's and daughter's for the commendable decision they've made to serve in the Navy. Bless them all
Hi Girls! Starting to look at airlines and hotels, as well. Are you staying until Sunday?
Thinking of Courtyard Marriott in Waukegan. Are you renting a car or taking a hotel shuttle?
Any thoughts?
forever mom,
thanks for that information. did not know airlines could do that. awwww...I wouldn't call you a B-word. It's an adjustment. I warned my husband to bear with me for the time being. So mine's poor too! back to airlines, do you know how far in advance is a good time to book in a normal situation? We rarely fly..
Hey I like your picture, you must have taken it at MEPS. Not a scene you see just anywhere. Oh the memories already, cried my eyes out in that swearing in room, so was a dad of a girl leaving. So very touching he was..the girl turned around after swearing in and said "aww dad, you're crying!" That did not help my cause any!
