ebigirl:  You probably will be in this group, but not for sure until you get that form letter.  Could be the next one.  So stay here until you are confirmed!  Form letter usually comes within the first 10 days-2 weeks after they leave.  Sometimes the recruiters have the ship/division # for your SR.  That is how some of these ladies know theirs.

good morning my new SR moms!!! my son is going to work on subs at an MT.  He has quite a bit of schooling ahead of him with this job, but it all sounds quite interesting.  I just can't wait until we can actually starting talking to him again more. Have a wonderful day & my fingers are crossed for the box today :)

My son left on March 9th. I received "the" phone call that night about 11:00pm PST, but the "box" is being mailed to his girlfriend's house. She hasn't let me know she that she's received it yet. I feel stupid asking this but how do you already know when PIR is?

Oh, we are from the Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington.

Thanks for your help! Monica

It is so good to see so many joining this group and saying where they are from. It really does make it feel like family. Welcome everyone.

My brother and sister in law live in Morehead City, North Carolina.  They are both retired Marine officers.

omg, is anyone watching the New show called Coming Home on Lifetime? They have 2 sailors coming home to surprise their families. They are both from my sailors ship the Harry S Truman, one of them is from her squadron, The Ragin Bulls and when he flew in she was standing there at the hanger while they were filming it. This is so cool :-)
