Hey Siscarrie,
Nicky just arrived in Groton yesterday. He has finished his "A " school and will start "sub" school now...I hope our Sailors can find the time to do somethings together while they are there, Nicky said his orders state that this part will be 48 days, Then home on leave :)
We have not received the year book yet.

Carrie,
Let me know if you are trying to plan a trip up here and when... I can probably help you find a good deal on a hotel that is clean and close...Groton area is more expensive in the summer...but there are towns VERY close that would have good deals!!

saw this in a magazine, thought i'd pass it on:

This year canvas on demand, a company that turns your photos into canvas portraits is offering a 16x20 picture to any mom of a deployed service member. Your sailor just needs to go to www.canvasondemand.com and register under "operation mom".

Glad to hear that you got to have a visit and had a wonderful time. I'm praying i get to go see my son in Groton,Ct. this summer, if i come up with the money. He has not started his classes yet, maybe next week, and his schooling is going to be about 11 months all together.

My son told me the year book should arrive a couple of weeks after the dvd. They told him the dvd in 6-8weeks and the year book 8-10 weeks.

My son did not order the DVD so I called the Navy Exchange Photo Lab today and am using his order form that came with his pictures to purchase the DVD. I asked about the cruisebook and they told me to expect it in 8-10 weeks via the postal service. Have a great weekend! Noreen

Good Afternoon Everyone. I certainly miss the busy Navy for Mom days!! Just thought I would post a little update on my Sailor. Graduated on March 5, stayed in Great Lakes until March 27 when he went to Fort Hood in Texas and left there for Afghanistan on April 6th for a 60-90 day tour. God Bless our troops! Enjoy the beautiful weather and keep in touch - Rob's Mom - Noreen
