Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Nancy69 on February 16, 2010 at 9:47pm: Anyone who has sons or daughters going to Groton send me a PM and we can touch base.. i am here in CT and am familiar with the area...also my "little brother" is stationed there. Sometimes it is good to just have piece of mind that someone is close by if you need anything..:)

Comment by Nancy69 on February 16, 2010 at 8:59pm: not to be a downer but I wouldn't count on phone calls.. maybe 108 earned their call by getting a flag or something. The only guaranteed phone call any of us have is the one after Battle Stations...so just don't be too disappointed if the phone doesn't ring. Sometimes no news is good news..even though being out of the loop STINKS...only 16 days left...:) I will hope for everyone that we all get GOOD calls home.. but if not.. just remember that means our guys and girls are on track to PIR...
