Hi everyone, I know I am starting kinda late in the game. My fiance has been urging me to try out the website. I havent really had anyone to talk to and alot of the things he tells me can be confusing and frustrating. I want to book my trip now, his parents are breathing down my neck 24/7 and my family has no idea what im going through. There is alot that I didnt know until I started taking things into my own hands. All I know is I could use some advice, any would be awesome.

Well.. Chris has had bronchitis.. so hopefully he is better now. The lag in the mail drives me NUTS. No news or calls is good news! I do know that the RDCs threaten them with being ASMOd a lot.. it keeps them pushing and motivated. It doesn't actually happen often unless they get hurt, sick -or are a behavior problem. They are allowed make up tests. So - let them be nervous..but he will probably be fine. Week 5 is a lot of drill - I think - marching and inspections, etc. I'm not certain if they have moved the final PFA into this week - somethings depend on how many actual training days they have after their Pdays - some divisions have less than others in the same PIR group. For instance - 109 had their initial PFA almost a full week earlier than normal.. so they may have that this week. Next week is the hell week - Firefighting - the confidence chamber - and I think the Captain's Cup... possibly the last PFA...
Chris said the last 2 weeks pack a lot in - so he probably wouldn't have as much time to write. only 17 days left!! I'm gonna keep praying and keep the faith that all goes well for all of our new sailors...

Nancy, yes that helped! I thought that he may have gotten into trouble or something! Unusual for my son, who is quiet and respectful (but older that most, not unheard of to having fun)! :-O I have always used the Chicago and SHIP and DIV when mailing his letters. That's the way he addresses the return address, bu twhen that changed, it sort of freaked me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SailorsGF - it'll be fine with or without USS CHICAGO or Recruit Training Command.. just make sure it is 3405 Sailor Drive..

Nona - Chris is in DIV 109.. they may be brother divisions...I don't know.. much of there training is done 2 divisions at a time - (from the same ship) ...
