I have always just used Recruit training command - though I thing all you need are the ship - div and street address. The USS CHICAGO is the boat that Ship 7 is named for - my son is there as well.. so your son hasn't actually moved.. hope that helps

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA BOUT THIS?? My son's address was changed from USSCHICAGO to RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND. Any idea on WHY this happens? I know they move around alot, and his SHIP and DIV are the same.

siscarrie...
My son was not as specific but he did say both in his call and in his last letter that there are a number of guys in his div that are making it a bit harder for everyone..and earning the div street hits (div demerits). I guess that they like to talk - A LOT all the time... like though revile and so forth. I guess that's probably how some people deal with the stress. Chris is quiet to begin with so.. LOL.... he did say they were all good guys though..;)

My son said in his letter that there was a lot of gooffing around,i think at night. Hitting in inappropriate places, not putting there towels on their fore arm, some are putting them on their shoulder. He said they are putting the ones that are goofing around in the same area to sleep. My son had to move to another bunk so they could seclude them. Its not really bad stuff they are doing, its just alot of playing around. Its making the others half to do alot of extra exercises. My son is ship7 div 107.

i Just saw everyone's posts regarding updating the list for PIR..when my son called home during week three - what he told me is that they are allowed to update the list about a week or so before PIR - not at any time... however, he DID say that he WOULD be able to update the list at that point. Perhaps some of the recruits are misunderstanding. No one is allowed extra seats - so there would be no need for an forfeiture. I would suggest that if you are truly concerned - contact the public affairs office and ask what the actual deal is...
