Dear Judy,

It sounds like things are going well for your son.  He won't be too far away if he is working in Las Vegas.  My son is doing well - he is serving on the same ship and same division as Kim's son.  We will be meeting him after Christmas in San Antonio, TX to go to the Alamo Bowl.  We thought that Nebraska would be playing, but they'll be in San Diego.  We'll see Oklahoma St. play Arizona.  It should be fun -lots to see and do and great Mexican food!

Have a great time in southern California.  We used to live in Huntington Beach before we moved here.  We had a nice time when we went to the C school graduation.  They all looked so nice in their dress blues!!

Have fun!

Great Idea Tess!!  Go ahead and get it going, then post here when it's up and running.  I will be happy to post info on the FB account

Kim, Judy, Pam and everyone: We might not be able to post names and addresses on this website and, if not, maybe we can start a facebook page for easy access to this (soft places for sailors to land en route) information. Just an idea. Tess

Janis, Thank You...That means a lot coming from a member I started this whole journey with!! T already has 2 job offers on the outside in Las Vegas, it's plumbing work...but good enough to pay his bills while waiting for Law Enforcement Academy...right!! He has to report to a military base outside of Vegas 1 weekend per month for drills so he's happy!

Janis, how is your cub doing?!

Happy Holiday Season to ALL! I hope you are all enjoying your local weather. Ian is in Lemoore and went the day before Thanksgiving. He wont be home for Christams but we're on the same soil so I am thankful.

For those of you who have sailors whose feet have stepped on NON (left) US soil contact you're local VFW because from what I understnad once they leave/ step foot on NON US soil they become Foreign War Sailors. But don't quote me on that.

Judy,

I think you just "start a discussion" and tell everyone that is interested to let us know? Then we would have to collect emails and addresses so that anyone interested in being a stopping point would be on the list??? Something like that anyway. Any great ideas, someone just jump right in!

Comment by JudyB. on December 9, 2010 at 9:48pm

Great! Now that everyone things it's a great idea, how do we go about it. lol

Comment by Tess (Ship 11, Div. 210) on December 7, 2010 at 12:21pm
Maybe we should make a list of cross-country locations that are stop-overs for our sailors! "Safe houses" or "half-way" houses! lol
Keep up the good work Moms!
