Hello ladies, Happy 4th Anniversary.  Can't believe it's been 4 years since PIR.  It has gone so fast and been such a roller coaster ride.  I haven't been on this site in such a long time but think of all you ladies often.  Kim, a grandson....How WONDERFUL!!!!!  Congratulations all around.  I'm so happy to hear the good news for Joanne as well. Please send her my love.  Susan, what wonderful news that Grayson will be back in the states. Lucas is still stationed in Norfolk, VA aboard the USS Boise submarine. He, his wife and his parents all survived his first deployment and we are now working our way up to the second deployment. It was really tough not hearing from him for months on end. He earned his Dolphins while underway on deployment so that was a ceremony we weren't able to see but he was really excited and we were very proud.  Just wanted to share and to see if anyone was still on here.  Love to all!

Where is everyone?

I know, Kim.  It sounds pretty cool to be involved in the flights.  But what do we know. LOL!  The wedding is on February 18, 2012.  Too soon for my liking but they want to do it before he has to go out again.

Hi gals.  Glad everyone is doing well.  Kim, happy belated birthday.  Joanne, the same thing happened to me and it took a while to straighten out but the bank did find out the IP address and all was okay after that.  The new job is going well. A lot of new things to learn which keeps this old brain going.  Have to seriously start looking for a dress for Lucas' wedding but was hoping to loose the weight I gained over the summer first. That doesn't look like it's going to happen though. I did go back to the gym but I can't stop eating. LOL!

Lucas had his first underway in the sub and said he did well. It was only 10 days but I guess starting out with something short is a good way to get used to it.

Have a wonderful day!

Thanks, Kim and Joanne.  The wedding will be here in New Jersey. So I'm just going to take a deep breath and try to enjoy the excitement.

The company I will be working for is an accounting firm. I just got an email that I have to report to their office in NYC for orientation on Tuesday so I guess I passed the background check. LOL!

Wow, Joanne!  That sounds like you had quite an experience.  Can't wait to see pictures.  I'm so happy that you got to go.

Kim, I mentioned the codes to Lucas and he told me that some of the guys on the sub mentioned something like that too but they also do it for the calendar so their families can know when they are expected back.

Have a wonderful long weekend!

Hey girls.  Good news....I found a job.  I start on Tuesday providing my background check goes ok.  It is full time permanent with benefits and is only 15 minutes from home.  I won't know what to do with myself since I was driving 45 - 60 minutes one way for my last job.  YAY!!!  Thanks to you all for the words of encouragement.

Other news......Lucas and Brigitte have set a date - Feb 18 2012.  They said that this is the only time they could do it but I'm not too pleased that it's in the middle of winter. We have to keep praying that there is no blizzard so everyone will be able to get to the reception.  Kids!!!!!

Joanne, Luke is stationed in Norfolk VA and he is on the USS Boise.  It is a fast attack.

Is Jason on a fast attack also?

I'm looking for a full time executive assistant position.  I've been contracting since 2007 but I need something permanent so I can get the benefits of a permanent position. Something will come up but it's so hard taking the rejection.

Kim, that was very clever of you two.  That's something I should look into doing with him.  Glad Derek is okay so far.

Wow! Joanne that sounds so exciting.  Have a wonderful time!

The interviews are few and far between. So far I got 2 thanks but no thanks and am waiting to hear about another one I went on yesterday. There are so many people out there looking for work and of course they are a lot younger than I am. It feels like I've been looking for months but my husband reminded me yesterday  that it's only been a couple of weeks.  I'm not good at waiting around I guess.

Kim, what are special port codes?  Luke went on his sub which they call boat for the first time on Monday. So everything was finally real after all this schooling he's been doing.  He was very excited.

Take care all.  Love to you great gals!

Hi Joanne, haven't been on in a while. My sailor was home for a few weeks which was wonderful! But then he had to leave and I was out of a job and I fell into a really deep funk. But I regrouped at my aunt's house by the beach and have been on 2 interviews so far so I am feeling somewhat better.  Glad to hear that all is going well for you.  Can't believe you are going to Africa.  That will certainly be a once in a lifetime experience.  Enjoy it!

Hope everyone else is doing well.  Take care!

Joanne, congratulations and best wishes for a very happy and healthy life together! I checked out the pics and you look BEAUTIFUL!  Your mom was there with you, if not in person then in spirit. Have a wonderful time in Floriday.
