For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello All! My name is mmiles (aka Michelle) I am now the new ADMIN for the group since LisaB received her letter and her Recruit will be graduating a week earlier! If you have any questions please let me know. Also please remember do not type in the last name of your recruiit any where on thie website....big NO-NO for the Navy!

Remember we are all in the same boat, have many of the same concerns, have many of the same questions, expiriencing the same emotions! Basically we all need the same support! So please use this group to get any support you need! I hope you will all be able to attend PIR so we can then finally meet in person as well!! THANKS!!!

Be sure to go to the events page and RSVP for the Meet & Greet Thursday night before graduation! This is a free event even if your not staying at that hotel.

Who has received a "I'm a Sailor" call: Please include division and time of call if possible and if you know if the whole division passed.

My Daughter called me at 3:34 pm central time on Wed. May 25th. She is in division 187 and stated all passed in her division. We talked for 20 mins.

I cannot believe PIR is so soon! I only got my form letter yesterday--they've just barely begun week 1. What to do, what to do? anybody else coming from the SE?

Comment by diannep on April 19, 2011 at 4:47pm: Lori: Residence Inn Waukegan is right near the Candlewood Suites. Besides what I mentioned below, they have studio suites...not sure of the cost but believe they are under $100/night. They all have full kitchens too...and Residence is pet friendly for those driving and bringing pets.

The hotels have a liberal cancellation policy (unless you book through something like Priceline). Residence Inn Waukegan has 2 bdrm 2 bth suites that book up quickly. We stayed in one...very nice if you have a large group or have someone who needs their "own space" like my older son needed! :-)

I have a huge fundraising project I am involved with that takes up most of my nights after I get my younger kids in bed....but funny how I always make time to log in and see who and waht has been posted!! LOL We are enjoying a little sun where I am right now (Everett, WA) not the norm for us!! Hope you are all enjoying your day as well!!
