Thanks for the welcome :) And sorry to hear about your RC :(

My husband is not "old" but one of the older guys in the group; I told him he would have issues with some of the younger guys. Not that they're trouble-makers or anything, but a lot of the younger guys have to take a few weeks before they understand that they just need to shut up, put up, and do whatever they're told.

It's good that they are getting mail already! Even just for boot camp, the RC whose job it is to pass out mail still has to go through training because it's a federal USPS thing. I was worried about how long it would take for mail to get through, but that is reassuring :)

Great day!! I got a 29 min call this morning!!  My RC had to call for security reasons again..but I dont care why he called just that I got to talk to him! He is doing great!! Says food is good, the wool blankets suck!! He said they are getting mail and he sent out some letters to us on Friday...so we should all be getting mail soon (at least from this Div) :o)

His Division has been in trouble lately and he said they have had to do IT (Intensive PT) 9 or 10 times and they have lost 2 of their 3 phone calls. The phone calls were lost due  to not properly putting their safety bars up/on on thier rack.  They lost 5 mins for each person that did it wrong. He said they have a chance to earn them back with a test but the Div needs to have an average of 4.0 to earn one call back. He said there are some RCs that are really struggling to get it together!

He said today they have PFA (a fitness test). He isnt looking forward to it. He said some of them have been sick, he is getting over it now as well. He foudnout he will be shipping out on Saturday they 4th and his A school was extended by 5 weeks.  It was so good to hear from him!!!  I cant wait to get a letter as well. I hope you all hear from your RC's soon!!!

LeeLee, when you receive your form letter from your SR, there will be a password on it to print out your Gate Pass for PIR.  Make sure you keep that letter and put it in a place you will remember.  Some have been known to misplace it and then have trouble getting the password.  You will be able to print out the Gate Pass about 11 days prior to PIR and you will then be allowed to drive onto the base (and park) with that pass.  Your SR will also give them a list of names for those who are attending the PIR.  They will just check you off their list when you get to the hall.

I see it!  Read this on facebook today!
U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command Can your recruits wear their own glasses or contacts for graduation? Yes they can. You can mail those items to them so they have them in time for the ceremony. For contacts, only one week's worth of solution is allowed.
