Hi All, when I went to my son's PIR @ Ft. Benning we went the day before to register our car and get a pass for our car.  That way they will only look at your car pass and your ID's.  I hope the Navy will issue a pass the day before since we have to be there so early.

Also, you are so right about the security clearance....no joking is good...they do not have a sense of humor which is good.  Some guy called us then we had to meet with him.  The questions where simple and thank goodness my son was young so he didn't have a past...lol.  He was getting a Top Secret clearance that he took very seriously.  But this all happened after basic training.

I to have sent a letter everyday!  I recruited everyone on facebook and I even took a stack of enveloped to church today pre addressed so people could grab one and send a note of support.  My new title... The Mail Pusher!  hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa

mmiles, it may actually take them about 2 to 3 weeks to receive incoming mail because someone in their division has to be trained to be their division's mail person.  Keep sending something everyday, because they love getting it.   My son received about 3 letters from me about every other day and he loved the fact that they would call his name multiple times for mail call.  :)

hi guys!!  I'm  a little confused.... got his address from his recruiter 3 days after he left then I got the official letter :o) That msut have been for someone else :o) I just havent received a personal letter from him yet!  I hope they are getting mail because since I have had his address I have mailed him something everyday.  I even went out and bought some Far Side books (books full of the comic strip) and I rip out a few pages and mail them so he gets something almost everyday.

Book my tickets!!!!!  I am so excited!!!!!!!  I sat down and had to really figure out the most economical way to make it work. So many of my family won't be able to make it to the graduation I am worried about how my some will feel if not many people show up!!!

I got some info ordering tshirts for our RC Division. In case your interested...I will post it in a discussion above!!

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!!  I

mmiles, Parrothdgal's idea was a good one.  Your SR's recruit should probably be able to get, at least a temporary address, for you by now.  I would think that you could look for your letter, in the mail, early this week, since it could take anywhere from 10 days to a couple of weeks to arrive.
