mmiles-

I know how you feel.  I keep my daughters door open all the time, when she was home she kept it closed.  Keeping it open helps me know that she is not there.  With it closed I can envision her in there, so I keep it opened so that those thoughts do not cross my mind.  Pretty sad I know.  Some days I really feel like I am going insane.  It is getting better but it is those little things that keep coming back and haunting you.  SO hang in there and when the time is right you will be ready.  Maybe after you have talked with him agian?  Maybe with that fresh in your mind it might make it easier for you.

Have any of you had to clean your kiddos room yet or pack anything up? Any advice on what you did to ge through it?

We might be moving over the summer and my son didn't get his room packed up all the way before he left. He really cleaned things out and told me he wants to keep what is left in there so now I am gong to pack it all in boxes for him. It makes me sad to go into his room so I have avoided it. I keep his bedroom door open just so I can see his mess (pathetic, I know) :(

Parrotdgal- Your right it is hard to go from hearing from them everyday to suddenly nothing!  I have never had to quit anything cold turkey and this is the worst!  I got my official letter yesterdayand the little comments my son added at the bottom have been read and reread many, many times so far.  It will be my smile each morning just to see his hand writing and an "love you mom"

Parrothdgal- it is wonderful that she has made this decision to serve our country. So brave of her especially when she has to leave a little one at home. I am sure she and her little girl will have a wonderful life and her little girl will gro up to be so proud of her mommy. :-)

Yes I got the letter last week.  I just hope she is holding up.  She has a daughter herself she had to leave here to complete this.  I know that more than anything must be so very hard for her!  I am just dieing to know how she is doing!  Do you know when she will be able to make a phone call?  She will be in thr reserves....so other than deployment I guess i should be greatful that she will be back home after A school!

mmiles:  I will be posting a BattleStations discussion group on here soon.  I usually wait to do this until about 4 weeks before BattleStations and then we will try and get a schedule together.  In the meantime, if you would like to see what it says, here is the link to the discussion I posted in the 5/20 group:

Hello to all my new family members :-) lol. I can't believe we are into June PIR groups already. I am yet another veteran mom who is here to help answer any questions you may have. I will tell you a little about myself and if you have any questions feel free to ask on here, send me a friend request to this site, or email me at: uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com. My name is Lora, my friends call me Lala, my Navy for mom friends call me Lala the PIR ribbon queen or whatever they feel like calling me lol. I have a daughter who is a Sailor, she left for bootcamp may 25th and had PIR July 23rd (last summer) She was in the performing div and part of the choir, she was a grad & go (Saturday Departure) and went to Pensacola on a chartered flight. While in A-school (a total of 2 months) she got engaged, and got married and her husband left for bootcamp 4 days later. they are both finished with school and are at their first duty stations in VA Beach. She is an AO and he is an IT. I cried a lot, my family thought I was crazy and now I talk to her every day, way more than I did when she was in college. She loves the Navy, is doing very well with her career choice and makes me so proud I can't even explain it. So write those letters, it will get not only your SR through bootcamp but it is great therapy for you as well. Welcome to N4M's :-)
