mmiles-
I know how you feel. I keep my daughters door open all the time, when she was home she kept it closed. Keeping it open helps me know that she is not there. With it closed I can envision her in there, so I keep it opened so that those thoughts do not cross my mind. Pretty sad I know. Some days I really feel like I am going insane. It is getting better but it is those little things that keep coming back and haunting you. SO hang in there and when the time is right you will be ready. Maybe after you have talked with him agian? Maybe with that fresh in your mind it might make it easier for you.
Have any of you had to clean your kiddos room yet or pack anything up? Any advice on what you did to ge through it?
We might be moving over the summer and my son didn't get his room packed up all the way before he left. He really cleaned things out and told me he wants to keep what is left in there so now I am gong to pack it all in boxes for him. It makes me sad to go into his room so I have avoided it. I keep his bedroom door open just so I can see his mess (pathetic, I know) :(
Parrotdgal- Your right it is hard to go from hearing from them everyday to suddenly nothing! I have never had to quit anything cold turkey and this is the worst! I got my official letter yesterdayand the little comments my son added at the bottom have been read and reread many, many times so far. It will be my smile each morning just to see his hand writing and an "love you mom"
mmiles: I will be posting a BattleStations discussion group on here soon. I usually wait to do this until about 4 weeks before BattleStations and then we will try and get a schedule together. In the meantime, if you would like to see what it says, here is the link to the discussion I posted in the 5/20 group:
