@reenis35 my son is on the Halsey.  I just finished baking cookies to send to he and his roommates. I'm sure they'll only last as long as it takes to get the box open, but I thought they might enjoy them.  We skyped with him yesterday and he was telling us about the Mandatory fun they were required to have on Friday.  He said he couldn't really enjoy it because he had duty, but he did say that everyone had a good time at the concert.  I'm glad that they have things like that for them on the base.

My son hasn't said anything about a move, so I guess we'll wait and see.  He really likes his roommates and they same to get along really well, they have a workout routine so I'd hate to see him get split up.  Even though I know it's a possibility since they are both ahead of him in their training.  One is an ET and the other is an FC like him.

Well, I think I'll call it a night.  Have a great week and I'll catch up with you soon.

I'm glad to hear he made it off okay.  I really can't imagine sending Grace off!  Another Mom from my PIR her daughter got orders for 4.5 years in Japan!  I would be sick I think!  I'm sorry to hear about your dog I have two and they are such a part of your family and truly own a peice of your heart.  Maybe another puppy someday.  I got mine from the pound feels good to save a life!  Your son is going to have the time of his life you know!  So are you when he comes back home!!!

@parrothdgal.....thank you for the prayers : )
My son was home on leave for 12 days, which was wonderful!!! I wanted to stare at him more, but he wouldn't stay put long enough!! But, today was the big day of departure.....he left early this morning to head overseas for one year. He seemed very nervous last night while packing but once we got to the airport, he was calmer and ready to go. Very, very difficult goodbyes. His father and I stood watching him walk off with his sea bag and back pack and I commented that this was so much more difficult than when we sent him off to kindergarten!! I spoke to him this afternoon, he is in Norfolk, awaiting a midnight departure. He has 36 hrs of travel time ahead, arriving sometime on Thursday. Tough times. Oh and to top it off, our dog died 2 days ago. So difficult for my son, but we were glad he happened to be home when he died. So he at least got a chance to say good bye and a day of closure with the
family. So ladies, I ask for some prayers please......thank you.
Hope everyone and their Sailors are doing well. Being a Navy mom is a very difficult job!!!

Reenis35, Hi I just joined this group. My son was also on Ship 9 Division 189.  He is also in A School at GL.  He seems to be doing well and enjoying himself.  He said he and some of his buddies went to Navy Pier this weekend to celebrate one of his friends bdays.

 His rate is FC what is your daughter? I can't believe it's been a month since PIR.  I'll just be glad when we can see him again.  We skype pretty regularly, but just no the same.

Hope all is going well for your daughter.
