Jamie'sMom... OMG, my mother and I went to Kohls last night and she too bought a Navy Blue shirt with Anchors & Stars on it. Needless to say, I didn't find a thing. I was so excited that she found this shirt ... it's so appropriate. I would have bought it too but I think we would have looked like the bobsie twins...lol.

Jess, what dinner on Saturday night? Is that just with your sailor?
Comment by SmoothieVito on May 15, 2010 at 5:36pm
I looked it up on google earth, the parking lot and entrance is a nice walk! Hope it doesn't rain lol

Jess - I think that dress would be fine for dinner. The only thing you might want to think about is the cooler air after the sun goes down. Being right next to Lake Michigan keeps the air temperature cooler. We used to live about five minutes from the lake and I can tell you, the water temperature in the middle of August was barely 74 degress. One time we had jackets on for the Fourth of July parade! Crazy - but it can also go to the extremes with the heat also. Very humid up there, but since it's only the first of June, it should be comfortable.

LizzieT - LOL! that would be a definate oops!! I went to Kohls and since Memorial Day is right around the corner, I found a Navy blue shirt with anchors on it! I think I'll just wear a pair of capris also! My daughter has a Navy blue Sailor dress. My husband said Jamie is going to love it!

I hear it's about a half mile to a mile walk from the gate to the building where graduations are being held. Comfy shoes are a must!

Y'all are an amazing fount of information, and I realize I know nothing! :-) So, what's this about climbing aboard a ship? And how far is the walk from where the shuttles drop us off to the Hall (my DiL will have her infant son with her)? Is this event a dressy affair? Lawsy, but I am really behind in planning this aspect! So glad y'all are here to answer the questions!

I am wearing a summer dress and flat sandles. I hope everyone is having a relaxing Saturday. 3 weeks from today we will be with our recruits.
