Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

Last Tuesday was when Jamie was able to call. I believe a lot of the guys got to call that day. However, depending on each recruits schedule and whether they have watch, it could be any day. We didn't get a call on Sunday, so I'm happy at least some did! From what I'm reading about Hell Week, it just seems to be a lot of inspections and then IT and PT over and over if you fail. I'm telling you, these boys are coming out BUFF!

It's getting soooo close! I just dropped a letter in the mail to Jamie with instructions on how to get in touch with us after June 2 since we'll be headed up that way. Mail is so slow that I'd better make sure he is aware of our plans now!! Do you think we'll get another call this Tuesday?

I just googled Hell Week and the only thing I could find was on the Seals. Basically an entire week of training on about 4 hours of sleep. Not sure if our recruits will be put through the same. Their endurance will be put to a test this week either way. Maybe if we lift them up with our thoughts and prayers, they will pass this week and become stronger for it.

Elizatill, I am so sorry to hear of your son's falling and the breaking of his wrist! Please know you are in our prayers, and that your son is as well! Boot Camp is not the faint of heart, that's for sure! We'll miss you at the PIR on June 4th!!!

Every mother who didn't receive a call - just know that our children are thinking of us today! I'm one who has not received a call yet. I had hoped today would be the day, but it hasn't happened and it is after 8:00 pm in California. A few tears, but I am so proud of my son's decision to join the Navy. I hope all of you had a wonderful day. :)

Shelly, my son is Jason and is also in Ship 7 Div 206. I sure missed him today. I'm happy to hear you got a call today. What a wonderful Mothers Day present.

I got a Happy Mother Day call from Ethan about 8:30 tonight. he said that he got a good inspection on his laundry duty yesterday so he got to call home. He sounds so good and said that he is doing much better then he was doing last Sunday when he wrote my last letter. He said that he is entering hell week so he is kinda nervous but all in all he is going really good. I am so proud of him and was so glad to get to hear his voice today.
