Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

Steph Joeys Mom I received a phone call last Thursday in the afternoon at work from my son and nothing was wrong. From what I hear they call when the big boys tell them they can so a call can come anytime any day! Praying that all the mothers that havent heard from their son/daughter gets that call this week. Stay Strong!

I received my first letter on Thursday as well. My son says he is doing okay and cant wait to see us come graduation. He also mentioned in his letter that 7 guys from his division have dropped out already. I don't exactly know what that means. I have only received one letter and no phone call. This Tuesday will be three weeks. How long does it take for a phone call home? I just want to hear his voice even if it is only for a few seconds. I find myself always checking my phone and the mail to see if he has called or written.

Hi Gramsue....I really hate to busrdt the bubble because I truly would rather have it your way but there is 32 days left until June 4th. I am truly sorry.

What exactly is the clock above ticking time to? It is Sunday May 2 and I count only 27 days to June 4th...not 32

I don't think it matters if you double-post, Susan. But, I tend to check here first since our kids all have the same PIR date. It sounds like most moms move towards the PIR group but also stay in touch with the boot camp group.

I got my second letter and a letter from my son's bunk mate! He is jealous of the amount of letters my son receives, so we will be writing to his new friend too. They seem to be getting along great! My son hurt his knee and is on light duty - hoping it is nothing major. Makes it harder wondering if he is okay. But he was happy to report that he has been appointed ship staff (whatever that is!). No phone calls though - wish I could here his voice.

We got a second letter from Jamie today. I guess the two articles I sent about the Braves didn't go over too well. Oops! He reminded me that this is bootcamp and not summer camp! He actually said it was like prison - no music, phones or TV. So to a 20 year old, that is rough!! Then he said that prison might be better! LOL. He still has his wisdom teeth. They didn't have to come out. He seems to be doing well but misses his little sister something terrible!

My sweet DiL got her first letter from my son today! Yea!!!! He's doing well, and he also didn't have to have his wisdom teeth removed!!! I'll let her post when she gets online, but his DIV 203 sounds great!!! So happy to finally have word!

Happy Saturday!! I am so happy and excited we got a phone call from our daughter yesterday. She sounded good. She said she had gotten the Ricky Crud. But she is feeling better. It was so great to hear her voice after so long. The whole family got to talk to her. She was making sure we could come to PIR she said she has to confirm her list. We told her that we have ticket to come see her. She didn’t have to have her wisdom teeth out so that is good news. She also told us to keep sending mail that it helps. She said that she is going to carry the RTC flag. She is happy about that. I have been on cloud nine since I got to hear her voice. It was the best. I hope everyone has a great day.
