Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

So sorry to miss the M&G. It took us much longer to arrive than planned. Especially through Chicago. That added about 1 1/2 hours. Driving strait from Central NY, I was so tired I was afraid to drive any where else. Fell to sleep the minute my head hit the pillow. The PIR was amazing. They all look so nice in their uniforms. I have met some great people here at the Comfort Inn with their sailors too. Not looking forward to the trip back home :( Congratulations to all the new sailors and safe trips home to everyone.

Jamie's mom: thats funny! There are so many sailors, it's hard not to run into someone. LOL You have to love walmart!

Shelly: Thank you very much! That helps me. :) I hope you have fun in Chicago. Don't know what we are going to do yet. Guess we will figure it out in the morning. hehe
We def. do need to stay in touch! It was really nice to sit and have lunch with Jaime's mom and the family. Also to have all of Shelly and Megan to sit next to during hte ceremony. I fel like we were all family. We should def. stay in touch and I hope the guys do too! The way they can just talk and hang out is just so great!

Denise: 205 filled up pretty quick. You guys had a big group over there.

What I can say to those attending in the near future ....

I woke up at 4:30am and left here (by shuttle) at 6:30am. I thought to myself .. we are going to get good seats because we're getting there early. Well, that wasn't the case ...
Yes, the shuttle was perfect ... no waiting in a line of cars and we got there early. However, I was shocked when we walked into the hall ... it was already filled with people. I did not get front row seats like I wanted ... they were already filled. I have no idea what time those doors opened but the 1st 4 rows of bleachers were totally filled already. I arrived at 7am and it didn't start until 9am. By 8:45am, the bleachers were completely filled. We were crammed in there like sardines ... literally.

Hi ladies ... OMG ... what a great day. I agree with Jamie's Mom ... the ceremony was great. I have to say ... when those doors opened and they came marching in and each division was anounced and the drums and music was going ... it was just explosive ... it was such a proud moment and my emotions got the best of me ..wow!!! And then when they called Liberty ... oh geez, what a moment that was. I hugged my sailor so tight ... I was never so proud!!!

Susan2david ... I'm so sorry that your sons PIR was delayed ... I know that had to be very hard for you. And for not being able to attend next week to see him graduate, my heart goes out to you. I know what you mean when you say they seem to make things complicated.

Clandy they get Liberty at 8am in the morning. Today was amazing! PI is everything that everyone has posted. We did get there about 6:45 AM so the wait before hand was crazy long. I was so glad to see E and the hug was everything I said it would be. AMAZING Tomorrow we are going to Chicago for the day and with the crew that we have everyone needs to pray that we do not lose anyone. I do not want to go home but after seeing E I know that he is doing great and is enjoying this experience that he has created for himself. I am one proud NAVY MOM. Clandy and Jamies mom I am so glad that we have met and I hope that we stay in touch for a long time to come.

We seen Shelly and Megan in Wal-mart (can't go to a new town without stopping there LOL!) and they said something about being there at 7:30, but they get released at 9:00.

Sailor is headed back to base!! Attended PIR for our son today. Wow - it's really hard to put into words the awesome feelings that come over you from the first moment you walk into the Hall, to the big door opening up, to the call of Liberty! It was wonderful! Clandy26 and our Sailors met up for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. We had such a great afternoon. Can't wait to hear more stories!!!
