Let's help those who are coming to PIR by themselves find each other so that no one is traveling alone from the airport to Great Lakes.

FYI: We got the DVD of PIR in the mail yesterday (via FedEx), but haven't received the Keel Yearbook yet.

Update on Div 242, PIR 7/9 (that's today): This was the division who had to re-do 2 hrs of BS-21 (Battle Stations 21 exercise) yesterday in order to graduate today!

Just updating everyone, Div. 242 graduated with no problems. It was great! We have our son and he looks so good. We have him all day today, tomorrow and Sun. Thanks for all of the well wishes and prayers for his division.

Thanks for the graduation information, Sobe! Yes...it will be awhile before we can afford another trip like PIR! We're hoping Matthew will be able to come home for a visit when he finishes A School. Good point about sunscreen and 4th of July - Matthew posted on Facebook that his face was on fire! I had just sent a box of goodies which included sunscreen, but it hadn't got there yet :) He's still my boy in many ways, but growing up in so many others!

I had to laugh when I seen the photos our of our kids Shelly. I was like, um, Jamie SPF 50 would be nice! I'm glad the boys are having fun. Jamie sent me an e-mail today and said he's got to focus on his studies now since it's getting tougher. Second test this Friday.

P.S. - It was really hard to leave him this time knowing that it will be months before I see him again. But then again, I might need a Jamie fix and hop on a flight and head back up there!!!

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is well and that all of your Sailors are adjusting to their new lives. Ethan i s in school now and studying all the time. He made a 93 on his first test and was disappointed. Man what a difference from when he was in high school. I told all of you that I was amazed that he even finished high school. He has changed so much in the last few months I swear.

Pam I was so jealous of you getting to see Jamie. I am glad that Ethan and Jamie have become such good friends. To bad they couldn't remind each other to put on sun screen the 4th of July weekend.

Rebecca - I've heard from other moms that the A-school graduation is very informal and it's not something that your sailor would expect you to attend. Most don't even mention it to their families. Now, that doesn't mean you are not invited - or that you shouldn't go, but from what I have heard from other Moms with kids who are out of school, don't spend the money unless you have it and have the time to go. They told me that their sailors would rather have their parents come out to visit them for a vacation and not plan it around the A-school graduation. It is nothing like PIR. I live in California too, and I'm still paying for the last trip!!!!

Hi everyone! I haven't been on in a while but wanted to check in. Sounds like everyone's sailor is settling in at their school, except for AirRescueMom's son! That must be very frustrating! My son keeps hoping to transfer to a different job, and it seems like a lot of hurry up and wait. However, he has met some nice friends, enjoys working out with one of his roommates, and had a great 4th of July in GL! I must admit I'm jealous of you moms who are able to visit while they are in school. I miss him, but am thrilled to be able to talk on the phone and email :) I didn't realize that there would be a graduation after school. We live in the Bay Area in CA so can't see how we could afford another trip to GL.

My son Brandon is at Corry Station too! Started A-school a week ago today, he is an IT (Information Technologist) and hopes to hear if he gets Phase III Liberty by the end of this week. He likes his roommates and has made some good friends. He misses a few of his boot camp buddies, but is contact with them via Facebook. I LOVE being able to call or text whenever I want! I live in Northern Calif, so I don't know if I will visit or not (still paying for Chicago trip!!!), but he said he would come home after school is out (October).
Glad you guys are posting - I miss this group!
