Does anyone know what week the boys are on this week? I don't know if I count the processing week (May 29-June1). If I don't count that week, then this is only week 2. Right??
yup this is week 2...and going by so slow, but hopefully we hear from them next week sometime
It is going very slowly isn't it?? ugh!!
I believe this is the start of week 2 of training.
I have not received a letter from my son yet! I am anxiously awaiting one!! It's great to see other mom's on here and that they are feeling the same as I am. My son was away at college for years but then home for 2 years after that. We were able to spend alot of time together and I am very thankful for that. But this is very final - he won't ever live with us again!!
My son's job will be Intelligence Specialist. He is going to Dam Neck, Virginia for A school. I'm keeping my son's room just as it is for awhile. He has all of his awards and things on the walls. It looks very grown up! He's my last one to leave home. He has an identical twin brother but they are very, very different! It's very helpful to have all of these Navy moms to talk to. I received not 1, buy 3 calls from my son today, asking for information!! He sounds frustrated and couldn't really talk but I asked alot of questions and got some yesses or nos!! It still was good to hear his voice. I read yesterday that alot of the recruits were making "official" calls for info and that the number would be an unrecognized number. My phone read North Chicago, IL and that is next to Great Lakes, IL. We all have to hang in there and just be proud Navy moms!!
Got his first letter yesterday!! Yea!! He sounds good. He did not say how he was feeling (recruit crud?) I can make it now without further contact if I have to. At least I know he is ok and he can do this!!
You guys may want to check out this facebook group. There are some moms already there from this PIR looking for others and you could chat there and also invite them to your PIR group :-) It is a closed group but you can request to be added by clicking on the link below. :-) We have a great mix of people who are new to boot camp, some who have just hard PIR or are about to and some who are experienced and can answer questions. Please come join us. Just remember to keep coming back to this Groups main page here and DIV Discussion as well to post all you news and meet others who join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/327167160695549/
I got a call today. 35 minutes!! He sounded good not sick and in good spirits. He got promoted and was made a leader of some sort of something. I wished I spoke Navy!! Hope everyone is doing great today!!
I received a letter and so did my mom (grandma!) He said he likes boot camp but he was sick with a bad cold and fever. :( He says the food is good (better than my burnt food!) He likes all the letters I have been sending - I send one every day. It was so great to get a letter. I hope to get one more but if I don't I'm ok. They have been gone 4 weeks today!!
