OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

not to be debby downer.. but..  I wish my sailor had not have purchased the keel....  the first 30 pages are of things that happen to our sailors, but not of our sailors or their groups... they use the same first 30 pages on all of the keels, all year.  so its not a journal in this day and time.  The last 10 ish pages are of your sailors groups...but I know our copy the pictures were so dark we couldnt see anything.  I know it makes the production cost higher to take pictures for each PIR for the album, but that what I wanted was CURRENT pics... ie my son grauduated in the dark uniform, but most the pics in the book were of the white uniform.   If you buy the pictures you will have the individual and a pic of the division.  The PIR video was "okay"...and was nice to show my father who couldn't attend....but dont expect a professional video. My son was in a working 900 division and was a body snatcher so his division didnt perform or march, they worked as body snatchers, etc. This is just my opinion... and might make someone mad, but I thought I would express it.  Others have been happy with the Keel and video..
That's why it is good to get it for FREE in the $140 pkg if your SR orders it!  Didn't cost anything!  :-)
I was so happy to get the PIR DVD because I never saw my son at PIR.  Never could pick him out.  Was great to see him close up as he passed the review stand in the DVD.  But for others who take their own videos...maybe they wouldn't want to spend the extra $29.  If you have the $$, I say get it.
