Thanks so much Willsmom, I am so sorry I wasn't back on yesterday. Our internet got knocked out by a storm and didn't come back on again until sometime late last night. I have been working on ribbons all week and trying to get life back to normal after the wedding last Saturday. I have also had a friend I met on this site who had PIR in March visiting at my house for the last couple days. She is on her way from Arkansas to see her Sailor in Charleston SC so she stopped here for a vist in the mountains. They went down sliding rock and I took them downtown Brevard and to see some waterfalls and up on the Parkway. They love the climate here and are now wanting to move here lol. It happens a lot. People come for a visit and never want to leave :-)
For those asking about ribbons: with Monday being a holiday you are running out of time to order. Depending on how far you live from NC and when you are leaving for PIR you may have to pay extra for express shipping to get ribbons on time for PIR. The best way to contact me is to send me an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com The email on this site is just not reliable lately.
chicinge: praying for you and your SR. Positive thoughts!!!
Again, I must say what beautiful PIR ribbons, lala!!!!
Has anyone else heard about the possible 1 hour call this weekend? Wow, I can't even imagine being able to talk to my son that long!!!
I would stop mailing letters now. With Monday being a holiday it is not likely that any more letters mailed now would get to them. Some have said they received forwarded mail but others have not. You can keep writing and just hand them the letters in person. They can read them while your there or save them for when they are on their flight.
chicinge- I will keep him and you in my prayers, I hope he is able to pass the float very soon so he can have PIR with his DIV.
Any idea when to stop mailing letters?
Ideas for graduation gifts?
Good Luck ladies to all your SR;s doing Battle Stations!! Can't wait to read your post after your "I'm a Sailor" call. My SR is 226 so I have a few more days yet : (
That's ok because its only 6 more days until we get to hold and see our Sailors!!!
HOOYAH!!!!
