I am not sure, I have never heard that request before. Why are they waiting at the hotel? Are they not going to PIR? Even if you have more than 4 guests they can go to PIR and wait in the visitors area and see if they have room for the extra guests to get in the ceremony hall. They almost always have the extra room and let everyone in. We took 4 extra guests and they all got in and we had 13 DIV graduating.

The shuttles will be there for quite a while after PIR and will be ready to take you when you are ready to go. The Sailors ride back on the shuttle for free :-)

rackie:  After PIR, the sailors return to their ships to get pictures, etc...and then they are yours for the day (unless moving over to GL A School base right away).  My son went to his ship and didn't reappear for about 45 minutes!  I ran all the way back out to the front gate to see if we had somehow missed him walking back!  Nope, just had things to do there, and was saying goodbye to some of them.

TickledTink:  PIR is over about 10:30...but you may not get off base right away.  And, yes, I'm sure you guys will want lunch!  If it is an hour drive, I would say shoot for 2 or even 3.  Not before that.  Just my suggestion!  What an exciting time for you two in addition to PIR/seeing your sailor!

Tickled: just to be safe, make the appointment at 3pm, so that you have an ample time and won't miss it. I'm not sure what time our Sailors  actually go on their liberty. Is it right after the PIR? I've read somewhere that it takes them about a couple of hours or more before they can actually go out for liberty. Bet, he's pretty excited!!! So are we here!!!

Trying to decide what time to make the appointment for J and I to find out the gender of the baby after PIR. I'm assuming we will be hungry and want to grab lunch. The place I chose is about an hour drive away in Oak Park, IL. They are currently wide open for appts all day, so what time would be good? 1? 2? 3? What do you guys think?

Hoping my wife can march in, she isn't getting it down, but they are working with her on it.

I know its still 25 days away, but I already have my camcorder charged up, new tape(s), and batteries in digital camera ready to go.
