@ sbenfamily, actually Springhill suites is different than courtyard although both Marriotts. I read on N4M that that's a good hotel! I know what you mean about the faith...was feeling the same way yesterday.
@TickledTink, we may be shoulder to shoulder on the redeye :-) Like you said, we'll be fine on the way out. I'm just a little worried about PIR morning. Their 5 am is our 3 am :-o . Oh well, it's nothing compared to what our SR's are enduring is it?? I'll quit whining :-)
We have reservations booked at the Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire ,i called the hotel & was told only about 15 minutes to the base & also mapquest comes up a little under 12 miles, We are getting a suite for under $100 bucks and this was because of a discount given for navy grads. We have just rented a car to drive from fla to great lakes, the Hotel manager did suggest its better to do this because the Taxis are expensive there.
Havenot heard from my son and today puts him into week 4 , oh how i miss him
and being able to hear his voice. Sure hope we get call soon from Ship 12 Div 223 recruits.
luvmyboy: I see where MamaC was on the 7 am shuttle from Residence. We stayed at Residence also and were on the 6:30 shuttle. That is the one I would recommend all to be on. Better choice of seating then as that will get you into the PIR Hall by a little after 7.
On the piks, remember....NO piks can be taken outside of the PIR Hall on the base. NONE. They will take your camera and delete them. Hope you all remember better than I did! I almost got my older son in trouble by asking him to take a picture of a "marching division" after PIR was over. A kind lady whispered to him that it was not allowed....he shot me "evil eyes"....ooops!
zana: Let's hope the "restricted" phone number was not your son...if it was, he will call back. Usually their "pleasure calls" come from the pay phones with the 847 area code. I would suggest that everyone answer all calls if possible while your SR is in bootcamp, no matter what the area code, because the Chicago area has many. Although most will be from the 847 area code, there have been reports of some ladies getting calls from their SRs from other area codes (we are figuring from Navy personnel's cell phones maybe).
