Hey Willsmom, just wanted to let you know when my last son went through PIR on 12/22/10  there was a malfunction in the videotaping and unfortunately there was no CD to purchase. :(  I'm sure this rarely happens but it was really disappointing to our PIR group. I know what you mean about having a camera up to your face though.

I did get a letter from my son E this week. No phone call yet from DIV 226.......hopefully soon.

navyrocks:  Not to worry.  They get to update their lists a couple of weeks before PIR.  Just make sure that he puts the actual names, not nicknames.  Some people have put names other than their given names on the list.  That could cause a few more problems.

No, don't call the Public Affairs Office.  They will just tell you that your SR needs to change that when he updates the list.

Need advise,  My son somehow listed his aunt&uncle on the Ceremony list but forgot to put mom & dad whom will be there(aunt/uncle will not) when i told him this quickly on our short phone call he said they were so rushed filling out forms i think he took it for granted mom and dads are a given.  We are driving all the way from east coast/Florida( where space shuttle launches) and im scared we will not get in, i have been reminding him to get us on that list and i see where it was posted about the 2 week list update.  I had seen on the form a number to call but im just paranoid to draw any attention to him.

Do you all think i should just wait a bit more?

Thank you Diannep, yes he will be in full dress blues. I will call public affairs, I am glad you mentioned something earlier about the list. Yes, I can't wait to see her face, I just hope she can hold it together marching in if she sees him!

sbenfamily:  It would be horrible to ruin the suprrise...what a great one.  Maybe you should video her reaction and then contact the Lifetime show, "Coming Home" and see if they will show it?  They always show home videos of these reunions.

I don't think I would post this question on RTC FB. Since your last name is disclosed, I would be afraid this could get back to your SR.  They are allowed to get on the computer sometimes (usually after BattleStations) and she just may see it.  I think you are better to call the RTC Public Affairs Office on Monday and ask about it. He would be in uniform, right?  They usually like to have those in uniform there...but they can tell you how to work this out.

Hubby from 12/224 called today!!  He called while I had our dog at puppy class. Since I'm using his phone since mine got stolen, I don't have the same ringtone and didn't realize it was my phone that was ringing. He left a voicemail sounding
good this time saying he had 5 min to call and he got 2 of my letters but hadn't gotten a chance to read them yet and that he was going to try the house phone. So he tried the house phone, then tried the cell again, that time I heard it and answered. He was crying by that point and only had 30 seconds left, I couldn't really understand much of what he said. But he said again he got my letters and will have time to reply tomorrow and he loves me. I wish I had answered the first time so I wouldve had a little time to talk! Since he hasn't read my letters yet, he still doesn't know I'm coming to PIR!

Sbenfamily: you could post that question on the facebook page of Recruit Training and Command. They tend to answer questions quickly.

Good afternoon every one!! I worked for grueling 16 hours and got home around 8am, super duper tired... Then phone woke me up.. A call from my Joel. He sounds upbeat. He was happy to find out that his parents are coming this July8th. I asked him how he is, still don't like the food ( he is the pickiest eater ever).  He got most of my letters already. Ship12/div224 have your phone handy!!!
