The form says that only the SR can authorize who comes to graduation...if he/she doesn't put them on the list, they won't be allowed.  That is my understanding, anyway.

I have a question about guests at PIR. My daughter filled hers out on the form letter with me and her brother attending. I know someone said it could be changed two weeks before. My husband is active duty military and deployed. He has been cleared to come for her graduation and we plan on surprising her. She was devastated thinking he won't be able to be there. She will just go crazy when she sees her Dad. Does this mean we are going to have to tell her in advance to add him or does he just have to have the password. He obviously has a military ID and won't have trouble getting on base but we are Army so not so familiar with Navy procedures.

Let's hope Ship 12 div 225 can make a phone call home this weekend.

I told my daughter who is unable to attend PIR that I won't be taking photos of the ceremony because I don't want to miss even a second of it by looking thru a camera lens!  She is not happy with me, but theres always the DVD!

Apparently Rackie is too good of a cook because her husband was the only one to complain about the food.  :)  Good for you!  Sounds like most are doing well and we're all a little closer to PIR today than we were yesterday.  OK -- now the other div's need phone calls!

MyBernie.  There is no welcome packet....just the form letter you should have already received.  Your SR should have included in that the 4 names of people coming to the PIR.  If not, they are given a chance to revise this list about 2 weeks before PIR.

does any one know when we might get a graduation welcome pack if  we are chosen to attend

TickledTink:  Yep, that long private shower is one of the first things on the sailor's agenda after PIR!

Ditto all that Sandra said.  I found the same thing...when you are watching them at PIR, all that you went through is so worth it!  Most of them feel the same way!

Awwww, SailorMomLisa:  So sweet of the "daddies" seeing piks of their children and getting teary-eyed...I know that must miss them so much.

So glad that many of you got phone calls, and hope that more are coming this weekend for those of you still waiting!

I got a letter too and it was meticulously handwritten in all caps :-) Definitely not the norm for my son but I'm not complaining. He repeated several times that the letters meant the world to him and all the other SR's. Mentioned a father and bunkmate who got a photo of his daughter and cried tears of joy. Also talked about the crazy thunderstorms and weather unlike anything he's ever experienced. He actually likes the food and says it's really healthy. It was so great to hear from him!
