Excited for all the moms who are getting phone calls. I remember when I had the phone glued to me and I still missed his first call. He did leave a message and I played it over and over. Don't worry ladies your sons/daughter/wives/hubbies are in good hands. Just keep encouraging them with letters. My son said the first month was the toughest. Good luck to all of you and wait till you see the PIR awaiting. It's amazing. God Bless.

I heard the PB shot hurts REALLY bad, but DH didn't write about it.  He did write about the showering, he said he really misses a "private f'ing shower" LOL

Did the 'happy dance' about three hours ago. Actually I missed my son's call by 20 minutes. He left a message and then called my mom's which my husband just happend to be there resurfacing her kitchen cabinets. My son sounded great and is enjoying boot camp. Sounded relieved he that he's passing. I guess he was worried about getting ASMO'd because his watch is every other day during training. He hates missing anything that's important like that which means he has to improvise and catch up. *sigh* Maybe I'll get the next call after BattelStations when he calls to say he's a Sailor! :)

rackie:  The Peanut Butter shot is a huge antibiotic shot that they get in the hip...ouch...and it makes them pretty sore.  I believe they have to roll around on their hip a bit after getting it to disperse it because it is thick.

Rob, so glad that you finally got an answer to why she wasn't marching!  They'll keep her busy at PIR, for sure.  Congrats on the call!

TickledTink:  They are taught to write like that...and probably threatened to have their letters not mailed out if they don't write neatly and print in ALL CAPS.  My son was the same way when there....had horrible handwriting...but his letters were so neat and I could actually read them!

Rackie:  I love that Scripture...one of my favorites, because I have found it to be so true over the years.  You are right;  this group does encourage, lift up and strengthen us during this time of so many unknowns.  Thanks to all of you, both for your encouragement as well as for your prayers.  You and your SRs are all in my prayers, as well.  :)

Got a letter from Joel! Told me about the first week of boot camp. Told me that his hair got shaved off, food isn't in to his liking (he misses my spaghetti meatballs), RDC have an iron hand, he hates taking a shower with 50 other men all at the same time, wisdom teeth got pulled out, had "peanut butter" shot (wonder what that means). He said the first week was tough, all the SRs are exhausted but are adjusting well. He asks me to write if I could, to pray for him daily and to include his division as well.

Karleen,Noelle,NavyWife: Doesn't feel good to finally hear your SR? So happy for you all!

I loved getting a phone call from my wife today. Ship 12 Div. 219. She said she doesn't march cause she is out of sync with the rest of the division. They step left foot and for some reason she steps right foot, and they said it has something to do with brain function, so if she graduates she will be behind the scenes instead of marching in like everyone else.

Yay for the phone calls!  Hope I get mine soon!  My hubby's handwriting was also a bit neater than usual and in all caps.  Maybe it's how they are taught to write in training and so they are just in the habit of it now?

Noelle-

I'm so glad you got a call too! It was great to hear from my son also. So I got letters and a call on the same day. Now what do I do until next week?
