Excited for all the moms who are getting phone calls. I remember when I had the phone glued to me and I still missed his first call. He did leave a message and I played it over and over. Don't worry ladies your sons/daughter/wives/hubbies are in good hands. Just keep encouraging them with letters. My son said the first month was the toughest. Good luck to all of you and wait till you see the PIR awaiting. It's amazing. God Bless.
rackie: The Peanut Butter shot is a huge antibiotic shot that they get in the hip...ouch...and it makes them pretty sore. I believe they have to roll around on their hip a bit after getting it to disperse it because it is thick.
Rob, so glad that you finally got an answer to why she wasn't marching! They'll keep her busy at PIR, for sure. Congrats on the call!
TickledTink: They are taught to write like that...and probably threatened to have their letters not mailed out if they don't write neatly and print in ALL CAPS. My son was the same way when there....had horrible handwriting...but his letters were so neat and I could actually read them!
Got a letter from Joel! Told me about the first week of boot camp. Told me that his hair got shaved off, food isn't in to his liking (he misses my spaghetti meatballs), RDC have an iron hand, he hates taking a shower with 50 other men all at the same time, wisdom teeth got pulled out, had "peanut butter" shot (wonder what that means). He said the first week was tough, all the SRs are exhausted but are adjusting well. He asks me to write if I could, to pray for him daily and to include his division as well.
Karleen,Noelle,NavyWife: Doesn't feel good to finally hear your SR? So happy for you all!
Noelle-
I'm so glad you got a call too! It was great to hear from my son also. So I got letters and a call on the same day. Now what do I do until next week?
