Navyrocks Mom is right. It was great getting the letters but hers
Said the same. Serious homesickness, cuts on her ankles from the boots
Knees killing her. She said praying was the only thing getting her through
Along with the letters. So let's all keep up the prayers and writing. It breaks my heart reading how homesick she is, but it helps me to hear all of you saying your kids are going through the same thing. She also asked for plain chapstick. Said it has been cold and rainy there. Can I send that? Just put it in an envelope? She said it had to be plain, no flavor. Thank you all so much, this site has eased my mind so much.

Yahooo!  I was fixin to post here in tears cuz im happy 4 all of ya when your mail come but worried since i had received o...  My boy is Ship 12 Div 223 and they were w/out MPO. Says on very limited time to write since he is a "push" div . Every part of my body hurts, I have "blisters on top of Blisters"  Ugh!  Says many have became ill cuz of the shots and its just a matter of time for his turn. Homesickness here is spreading like a plague & one guy almost left cuz of it.

So we all have to keep those letters going for our recruits and lots of prayers, He totally says keep those letters coming from the outside world.

Now i will go read them over and over with tears flowing.

Bless them all!

Nuke mom to be.

I just got the mail and got 5 letters! My daughter said she is the Mail Petty officer so I guess Ship 12/DIV 220 can blame her. LOL..She said they send letters on Monday, but it must be very sporadic when they actually get out. She has written friends and other family who haven't gotten anything and she hasn't gotten theirs. She said my letters were the only thing getting her through, so I see how you are all right! The letters are like gold to them!

Still waiting for a letter which I know has been sent. I'm on the West coast so I'm seeing some of you starting to receive yours...it gives me hope :-)

Love the verse, rackie.  I think it applies to family relationships and friendships also...not necessarily just "couple" situations!  :-)

Rob it does sound like maybe she is injured and I hope you find out soon. I know the not knowing what is going on was the hardest part for me. I am a "NEED TO KNOW" kind of person lol. I will add this, I know a mom who had a son not in a performing DIV and they had him working behind the scenes as a door greeter. He wasn't hurt, the poor boy just could not learn to march no matter how hard he tried and how much he practiced. I remember his mom sending me a message and being so worried because he just could not march. That probably doesn't happen very often though. It was the only time I had heard of it for sure. And maybe she wrote a letter explaining what happened and that letter got lost in the mail or something. Hopefully you will hear from her soon and it will be a good call saying that she is all good :-)

Ecclesiastes 4:9–12
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. (NLT)

* have a blessed day!!
