luvmyboy:  Be sure to plan on meeting your new sailor at the airport on Sat.  They are bussed there in the wee hours of Sat. morning, but you can meet up with them, get a gate pass, and wait until their plane leaves.  Special time with them!  Only exception to this is if they are on a charter, which is not too common.

Got 2 letters today!  The second was a lot more upbeat :)

Yippie! Got home late (west coast time) and my letter was waiting for me. My sweet husband didn't even open it and waited for me to get home. My son said to tell family and friends not to write so much. LOL! Their A and B drawers are very small and he'll have to send some back home.

His division started off with 79 recruits and already down to 72. They expect about 55-60 by the time they graduate. I heard that's pretty accurate.

He's worried about getting ASMO'd (held back). I guess because his watch is every other day during training time. So he has to catch up on Sundays. My poor son. It's hard to hear things like that because there's nothing you can do but continue to encourage them. And, at the same time we're worried about arranging our flights and accomodations for PIR on 7/8.

Well, 35 more days to go. We'll find out more as well get closer to the end of this month. :)

no she has always been 219. But I hope she can write more too.
Comment by diannep on June 2, 2011 at 9:39pm
Rob, they wouldn't have moved her from 219 to 934.  I thought maybe she started in the 934 group. So...I'm confused too. Hoping that she can write you and explain.

Nope she never mentioned that and the envelopes still say ship 12 div. 219. I don't know I will have to ask her cause if she don't graduate and she isn't marching then when am I going to get a call from her on what is going on. Thats what I want to know, so I will have to write her again this weekend and find out. There has to be some reason y she isn't marching if I haven't got a call about an injury.

Rob:  Is she in the 900 division?  The drill deck is the PIR Hall floor and I'm wondering if she may be working "behind the scenes" during PIR.  Many of the 900 group members do.

No letters yet...

My SR's letter was really positive.  He's loving everything except the whitey tighties, lol.  He told me to stop sending SASE because they are required to use the official envelopes and letterhead for their mail, so just send them stamps!  It is crazy how great a letter can make you feel.  He didn't need the bandaids I sent in his envelopes so he handed them out to others that did.  They are making good friends.  :)

yeah if it's bad enough that she will be delayed or seperated, they will have her call you.  So until you get that call, no news is good news!
