Ginnie, I'm so glad to hear from you. Alan said that some of the guys that just arrived in Pensacola are on hold for 7 months. The instructors are in the fleet.

Hey thanks for all the info. Glad everyone is hearing from their sailors. CJ said he could request east or west coast and we know he'll be San Diego or Norfolk, just having heard which one yet. He also said something about Japan... :( Is Ali still in GL? How is she doing?

Donna - he got to choose east or west coast. He said the training commander has a lot to do with getting early ship assignments. He said theirs is really good and got their ship assignments early. He wanted west coast since we live in CA. He figured we could visit more often. He also said they choose according to slots available and how high they scored.
Kathy - do you have electricity yet?
Robin - I saw you on the PIR DVD. I miss you all!

Wow Vickie how did Alan get his ship assignment so quickly? What is his rate? I'm dying to know where CJ will be, although we feel certain he'll be in San Diego or Norfolk.

We got it! Loved watching it again....and again.

Alan got his ship assignment. He will be on the USS Stennis, homeport is Bremerton, WA. I'm so excited as it is only a 12-14 hour drive and a really easy flight. My brother lives in Seattle, so he will have family close. I look forward to hearing where the rest of our group gets stationed.
Helen - what a wonderful send off for Papa and an honor for Matt. I know the next few months will be difficult for your family as it was for me when my father passed. I wish you peace in knowing that he is not suffering.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family, Helen. I'm sure that Matthew is proud and honored to have followed in his footsteps.

Celeste, that's great. Alan seems to be enjoying himself in Pensacola also. He thinks he might class up in 2 weeks.

I miss everyone too. Has everyone's sailor's classed up? Alan is in Pensacola and hasn't yet.
