My hubby is army and has an email like XXX.us.mil.gov with his name. It's probably some combination but I don't have my son's yet. Wonder if POA would tell us?

It was so nice to meet all of you at Flanagans and PIR. It was truly the most amazing thing I've ever been a part of. The hardest thing I had to do was leave CJ there. I think I cried all the way home, but I am so proud of him and all the new sailors!

I'll be on both groups also. We were fortunate to get to spend time with Alan and his bunkmates and families. Thanks Ginnie and Donna for letting us be part of your families! For the Alaskan mom that couldn't make it - Ginnie and I both met your son and gave him a hug. I'm sure he thought we were nuts! We just got home but I couldn't wait to get on and tell everyone how great the meet was at Flannagan's and what a wonderful experience the whole weekend was. We deserve to be proud of our Sailors, they are a great bunch of young men and women.

Helen - great pictures! I can't wait to get the e-mail of everyone pictures. I think Donna got pictures of them marching in, please e-mail them, I was going to take my camera today but on second thought.....
We took the Metra to Navy Pier also, but it was so crowded that after lunch my son wanted to come back and hang out in the hotel. He said he didn't want to be around crowds. Wish we had just taken the boat tour, he would have enjoyed that. But once we were back he was relieved and spent the rest of the day on the phone and computer with his friends. Today we are going to the car museum and Gurnee Mills. I'm going to hate to leave him tonight:( I'm relieved to see he still has a sense of humor, says he liked boot camp, it was easy after the first couple weeks and the food wasn't so bad. (Although he is eating like there's no tomorrow).

I just downloaded my pictures and I'm very disappointed that all the pictures I took inside the hall of the PIR ceremony were blurry. I won't post them on the e-mail but I hope you all had better ones that you can share.

Helen, they are just outside the NEX close to the Men's restroom.

We were at the base early and were able to catch the sailors marching and singing into the parking lot for liberty this morning. If any of you missed it you should try to get there before 8 in case they do it again tomorrow. Pretty impressive!
