Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Ginnie, we drove by and all around. Saw a bunch of recruits and some sailors on a bus. Did you hear anything yet? It's 2:15 I'm expecting a call any minute.

Maripat, we are at the Ramada in Waukegan. It took about 1 1/2 hour drive. The traffic was slow in spots but not bad otherwise. It's clean, the beds are good, the shower is good, don't eat in the restaurant, it's pricey. Ask for extra towels. I'll be wearing a pink proud navy mom t-shirt, in case you see me.

We're in the Ramada in Waukegan. It took about 1 1/2 hours to drive here from Midway, traffic really slows at the toll roads - we don't have those in CA.

It's in the low 70s with showers. We flew in to Midway, took 55 south, 294 N. The traffic wasn't that bad. Oh my gosh, I was going to bake cookies and my oven wouldn't heat. He'll have to do with jelly beans.

We are here, arrived at 7:30. They are in battlestations, my thoughts and prayers are with all of them. We are only 4 miles away from our kids. Can't wait to see all of you here tomorrow!

I am going to get a few things done and try to get some sleep. We are leaving around 3:00 am so I'll be getting up at 2:00 ish. I'm going to put my number on your page so if you hear anything you can call me if you want. Or any time over the weekend.
