Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Robin, he hasn't posted yet, just reading. I think he's hoping someone sends him a comment that he can reply to. I added him to two groups and showed him how to navigate the site. He's going to poke around on it tomorrow. More dads should sign up, but if your hubbys are like mine I have to get him started.

My husband likes Navy Dads, he's excited to have his own page. We'll see if we compete for computer time. I notice the Dads don't post as often as the moms. Go figure.
All those Moms that don't have phone calls yet - I'm thinking good thoughts for you!

Cindy, I know in my heart Morgan will be okay. It must have been disruptive and difficult for him to lose his bunk mate, they form such close ties. That's probably harder for him than swollen knees. Alan doesn't give much detail in his letters either. Will Morgan come home on leave before A school? Do any of them? I know Alan will not.
Helen - I've been telling Alan all along to order everything but he's very cheap. I told him I would pay for it all - I'm off to get the scrapbook from Michael's this weekend. He opened an account with the Navy credit union, I have access to his BofA account but not Navy. How exciting, his first real pay! They're almost done!
I signed my husband up on NavyDads and he's pretty excited about it. He asks me everyday what the Moms are saying.

Tracy - Wow, two in boot camp at the same time! I don't know how you survived it. Congratulations to you and your sons.

I'm anxious to hear about everyone's news in their letters. We don't get letters until Friday. We get separate letters too, but we share them. I don't think I could wait to read it - good thing my husband gets home first, he is more patient!

Maybe we can "Ask A Sailor" about hell week? I'm not a member of that site, maybe I can sign my husband up on NavyDads.

I thought hell week was only if they were in the seal program??? Could it be battlestations??

Hi Debbie, glad you found us! Alan is in Div 297 also. His most recent letters said he's starting to get letters from home. In my last letter I told him to tell other guys to write home and tell mom's to get on the website. Chris will do great when he gets his letters, they'll find him. I'm so sorry you missed your call.
