Alan said he can scrub toilets better than I can. He said he's writing letters like a madman. He said they get letters every night and it makes their day to get a letter or postcard. They can only mail out on Sunday. Keep writing Moms! I log on all day at work, I'm not getting a thing done. What a basket case.

I got the call about 20 minutes ago. Alan only got 5 minutes but it was the best 5 minutes of my life. He sounds great, he isn't homesick so much, says it's much better than the first week.

I got a call this afternoon! I had a feeling he would call today and carried my cell phone with me everywhere. I was so excited I forgot to ask him things so I just listened.

We still have not received our grad packet. Is anyone else still waiting for theirs?
Helen - German Chocolate Cake today, scones tomorrow, diet later.
Although I have no phone call it is a relief to hear that they sound good.

I called my son's recruiter today to ask him about grad and go and he said Alan will know before anyone, but I don't know when that will be.

I don't know how long to schedule our trip. I'm assuming he will get liberty until 7-8 p.m. on Friday and that's it. I've heard some had the whole weekend and some are grad and go. What are the rest of you doing? (My office and my husband are loving the baking stress relief).

I think that's a great idea. Thanks Helen. I'm desperate to hear from my boy, I can barely concentrate at work, I should go home and bake some more. I'm ready to go to GL!

In one of Alan's letters he said there were two divisions in his ship.

In my son's letter he said his RDC was pretty cool. That was only 2 weeks in, so I haven't worried about that at all.
