kwooley ~ Im not sure about this but I don't think you need a parking pass, if you have shuttle service from your hotel that your staying at, all you have to be sure of is that your SR added you as one of his four to his graduation list. now thats just for PIR, but for the rest of liberty weekend you would have to have it to get onto base to wait for him

Just checking in after a quiet weekend here..... How's everyone doing? Getting excited!???

My SR is doing alright. He thinks he might be finishing up through RCU but we're still not sure yet. I was able to talk to him on Saturday (he somehow worked out to call me on my birthday! It was WONDERFUL! I cried after he hung up, but for once it was a good happy on). He's getting ready to enter phase 3 of his physical therapy and today (Monday) he has/had an appointment for more x-rays. Hopefully he's getting better and can start doing a little more at a time. We'll see!

My boyfriend invited me to graduation but I was not the one to receive the letter, his parents were but they are not happy that he chose to invite me over his siblings so I'm not sure that they will even give me the code.

They do BS with their brother division, but sometimes they have more than 2 doing that exercise. This PIR group only has 5 divisions, so there may be only a few nights of BS-21. Even though they do it as a division, they are broken down into small groups, so teamwork is really important. They are graded individually (pass or fail). If they don't pass, they have the opportunity to do it all over again - which does happen (the last 3 pir groups had those who had to re-do it). But think positive!

Parking pass: I do not know if the password is the same for each division or each PIR group, because we are not allowed to share it with anyone. If you have lost your form letter, you should call the RTC Public Affairs office and ask them what to do. If you don't have that number, let me know (send me a private message - friend me first). Security is always number one priority, so it's best to get the password the correct way.

I had a question if anyone knows. Is the password to get the parking permit different for everyone?

Does each DIV know when BS 21 is? Im not sure, but I think they do more then one Div a night ( maybe with their brother Div). Does everyone know who their brother div is?

Get the GPS in your rental car - it is worth every penny, trust me on this! Mapquest and Google are not always correct, and you can't drive and read it at the same time! Even if you have others to read what you printed, you can't read them in the dark at night - and.... who knows where you will be when you want to go somewhere?? There's no possible way to print every scenario you "might" drive too! My husband is a tight wad (truly), but he was thrilled that we got it (okay, it took him a day to admit it) and now says that's what we will do anytime we travel. I think you can buy a Garmin for around a $100, and they are portable, so you can have it forever. My cheap husband hasn't bought one yet, but I will before our next vacation! That won't be for a while, I'm still paying off my trip to PIR two months ago!!!

I just booked by ticket, yay! Now I have my flight, my hotel, next is the car. I think I will go through ACE becuase they have the lowest rates so far of anyone! I forget who suggested to look them up but thank you!

Please take a moment to read Wolf Grrl's discussion above titled "My PIR Experience", it's great!

Some of the things she shares you may already know, but what I really like is what she DIDN'T do - they didn't plan every moment of their time with activities for her sailor! She was able to stay in Great Lakes until Tuesday when her Sailor flew to A-School (so she wasn't a G&G).
